This 5 week project requires critical thinking and creativity in order to solve the business problem.
Here are case studies focusing on consumers' decision making process, segmentation and positioning, and pricing strategy. These discussions show my ability to apply marketing concepts to real world situations in order to get successful organizational outcomes.
Sport Fan Behavior
In this course, I applied fundamental marketing concepts and techniques to the promotion and sale of sport products and non-sport products through association with sport. I learnt how to segment a market based on several criteria (geographic, demographic, psycho-graphic, behavioral) in order to save resources, increase sales, and increase the ROI. Finally, I analyzed sport fan behaviors through their needs, values, goals, and culture, and I integrated insights from the science of shopping in order to optimize the retail environment for the shoppers.
Consumer Profile Assignment
The attached document is a consumer marketing report that provides recommendations for Paris-Saint-Germain. After analyzing the current marketing situation of the club (market size, competitors, opportunities, core product, product extensions), I developed a marketing strategy in order to fill the stadium for every home game and expand the influence of the team internationally. To do that I defined targeted consumers' profiles and I designed marketing campaigns to effectively reach them.
The attached infographic aims to gather geographic, demographic, behavioral and pshychographic information about the target market of Florida International University. Within the infographic, I also defined two consumer profiles that FIU could target as potential students. This artifact demonstrates creativity, segmentation, and critical thinking skills.

Feasibility Study
Above is a feasibility study which determines if it is economically relevant to introduce a baseball team from a recent minor league in the city of Columbus. As a group, we produced a report and a visual presentation, including an environment and corporate depth analysis, scheduling, expenses (facilities, traveling, personnel), and potential revenue (ticketing, sponsorships, media) in order to estimate if it is feasible to invest on that project. This work requires cooperation, organization, planning, decision making and research skills.
The attached PowerPoint shows an economic impact about organizing a beach soccer tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. With the same group, we estimated how hosting a sport event would impact local restaurants, hotels, and transportation. Creating and organizing a major tournament requires to integrate a marketing promotion for the event, a schedule, and a budget with anticipated expenses and revenue. Through this project, I had to demonstrate the same competencies as for the feasibility study, with an added sense of creativity.
Governance & Policies
This class provided me with knowledge and awareness of the rules, regulations, and policies governing various sports organization. Analyzing several contemporary issues, I also gained a better understanding of the role and necessity of developing meaningful policies. The attached presentations are introducing 8 policies that highlight the mission, membership, financial and organizational structure related to professional sport, international sport, scholastic sport and amateur sport. Each of these presentation is the result of a group effort and involves interacting with current policies, identifying issues, and reevaluating policies. Through these projects, I developed a better understanding of the different governance structures and organizational theories with their advantages and drawbacks. I also gained skills in reviewing and developing ethical policies.

Thanks to this course, I became knowledgeable about legal principles that impact the sport industry. In addition, through the evaluation of real world legal cases, I examined current legal issues and emerging legal topics in sports such as intellectual property rights, antitrust and labor laws, contracts laws, naming rights, sponsorships, liability and negligence. This knowledge will help me deal successfully with managerial situations, particularly those related to human resources, operations, and marketing management.
Case Analysis Project
The above attachments represent a project about an antitrust law suit, Fraser v. Major League Soccer (2002). This case shaped North American professional sport and had significant impacts on the MLS' development. The project includes a case proposal, introducing the case and providing a justification for its relevance to my career path, a case brief, demonstrating an understanding of the legal aspects of the case and providing a personal analysis of the court's decision and rationale, and a business memorandum, which stresses what a sport manager could learn from that case. Completing this case analysis project has provided me with expertise that can help guide policy decisions and use past problems to inform future progress..
Research Methods in Sport

I also learnt how to use several data tools and programs, as well as how to analyze data using descriptive and inferential statistics.
Loris Project: Recreation Needs Assessment and Planning Report
Attached are the city of Loris recreation needs assessment report and its PowerPoint presentation. This project has been conducted by the entire research methods class, under the lead of Dr. Donald Rockey. The purpose of this study was to determine the current and future parks and recreation needs and planning priorities in the city of Loris. We divided the work to conduct focus groups, surveys, site visitations, and a benchmark study of peer communities. My role was to lead the focus group, document the findings, and to analyze the results of the entire project in order to formulate recommendations for the director of parks and recreation of Loris. This group project, involving collaboration, time and resource management, planning, and organizing skills, taught me how to use research to solve real life issues.
Facilities & Operations Intern
For my internship, I worked as an intern with Facilities and Operations, within the athletic department of Coastal Carolina University. I have participated in a broad range of activities, including organizing, planning, and coordinating athletic events, scheduling and staffing, assisting other departments (marketing, sponsorships, media relations), providing excellent customer services, facilities management and maintenance, and supervising and leading a team of student workers.
I noticed that my supervisors sometimes had trouble knowing what recreational events were taking place in the HTC gym and Brooks Stadium, which poses a problem for scheduling practices. I tried to create a source of information to solve this problem. I wanted to help facilities and operations staff anticipate, schedule, and coordinate practices, competitions, and school events. I created a PowerPoint, providing all the information that my supervisors need to do their jobs effectively. Sharing facilities means communicating, and through my project, I hope to improve coordination between the athletic and recreation departments.
Special Project Proposal
The posters above represent two events, hosted by ESPN, which gave me beneficial experience with major televised sporting events. The first is the Myrtle Beach Invitational, a well known college basketball tournament during which I assisted in game day operations, promotion, and fan engagement. The second is the Myrtle Beach Bowl, a college football bowl game.
