Nimats

Serving AS A NIMAT

A Nimat plays a primary role during the Brotherhood Conversion. It’s he who will lead the brotherhood candidates on a hike to reflect on their journey as an Ordeal member. The word Nimat means “My Brother” for which the Brotherhood is named after. Similar to the Elangomat, the Nimat will sometimes lead his candidates in a cheerful service project. During the brotherhood hike, that Nimat will have each candidate reflect on everything that has happened to them since joining the order as an Ordeal member.

An Arrowmen must be a Brotherhood or Vigil Honor member in order to serve as a Nimat. It’s recommended that the Nimat be a youth member with good understanding of the OA obligation and the scout oath and law.
