Camp Promotions

Introduction

The second part of the OA's mission statement says that the OA is supposed to "promote camping, responsible outdoor adventure, and environmental stewardship as essential components of every Scout’s experience, in the unit, year-round, and in summer camp."

This page contains materials for unit elections teams to conduct camp promotions and the information for the Lenny Niman Memorial Campership.

This page has been updated for the 2024 camp season.

Lenny Niman Campership

This campership was created in memory of Lenny Niman, an active member of York District known for his service to Madockawanda Lodge on the campership committee. This campership is to be distributed to youth who have a clear financial need to attend Pine Tree Council summer camp. As of 2024, Camp Hinds is the only camp running BSA Resident Camp, so any funding awarded must go to a week at Hinds in 2024.

All application forms found below must be returned by May 1, 2024. Applicants will be notified swiftly of their status after the deadline.
