Madison West Girls Tennis


Madison West Regents Girls Tennis is a no-cut tennis program for any high school girl looking to play tennis. There is a Varsity Team, a JV1 team, and a JV2 team (possibly two).


Madison West is a proud member of the Big 8 Conference and has a storied history in tennis. Since the inception of the WIAA Team State Tournament in 2000, Madison West has qualified eight different times to the prestigious event; most recently in 2019. On four different occasions the Regents have finished in the top-4 teams in the state; 2019, 2017, 2009, and 2008. As far as individual accomplishments go, the program has had several doubles teams finish on the podium (Top 6 in state). Most recently the doubles teams of Abby Lin and Sophie Knigge and Suze Oriel and Tyra Gustavson both finished Top-16 at the WIAA State Tournament in the Alternate Fall Season. In singles, the program has had multiple Top-16 finishers. In the 2020-2021 Alternate Fall Season, Grace Qian qualified for the State Tournament.

The first practice of the Fall season for 2021-2022 is Tuesday, August 10. Anyone interested in trying out for the Varsity Team or the top JV Team (JV1) should report to the West High School Courts for practice at 4pm til 7pm. All other players will practice from 2pm til 4pm at the West High School Courts

In order to participate the first day of practice, all girls must have all athletic forms filled out and turned in to the athletic office. A current physical or alternate year card must also be turned in.
