I am a fourth year PhD candidate in Finance at Rice University. My research interests are in corporate finance, with a particular focus on corporate governance, institutional investors, and shareholder activism. I am also interested in applying machine learning and natural language processing to answer questions in finance, particularly using large-scale textual and regulatory data.
Before starting my PhD, I received an MBA in Finance from Rice University and an MS in Computer Science from The Ohio State University. Prior to academia, I worked as a software engineer at Amazon and as a consultant at PwC. My background in finance and computer science shapes my research approach, combining economic questions with computational methods and novel data.
