I am a Junior at The University of Montana pursuing a major in Parks, Tourism, and Recreational Management. In addition, I am minoring in History and pursuing a GIS certificate. Using this academic platform, I aspire to create GIS deliverables showcasing animal protection and historic preservation. By using GIS, you can map animal movements and likelihoods of residents in any town, city, or riverside. This helps researchers like me understand behavior and how to preserve habitats.
GIS is great at relating history to today. Take a look at my historical maps to see the various ways we can use analysis and design to get people to care about the past. GIS has a diverse range of abilities, including the combination of creativity and analytical work - using both sides of the brain. In my work, I aim to show those two aspects in an engaging way.
