Research Tecnician Candidate

Applicants should possess a strong academic background and prior experience in a molecular biology lab, ideally with use of tissue culture models and/or gene editing. Other important qualities include good communication skills, a collaborative attitude, relentless initiative, and a strong work ethic. The candidate can expect to find an inclusive and multicultural environment that is committed to education and training. Research Technicians in the lab have moved on to PhDs at Cornell and Rockefeller. 

The position is a balance between research and laboratory management. The management aspect includes organizing and stocking frequently used reagents, scheduling equipment maintenance/repairs, and maintaining frequently used lab spaces. The research portion includes testing the efficacy of inhibiting TREX1 as a method of limiting cancer progression and boosting patient immune responses.  

Location

The Molecular Biology Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) is one of the world’s leading institutions in the fields of genomic integrity. The department is a collaborative, international environment that addresses key questions in cancer biology with the support of a strong network of technological platforms. Our lab is located at 420 E 67th Street, across the street from the MSK hospital. The position is fully in person and requires the techincian to be in lab Monday through Friday nine to five.
