Artist biography
I write and illustrate graphic novels using traditional materials such as pencil, paper, ink, and brush, as well digital processes during the creation. Through this medium, I tell stories that comment on or are inspired by my life as a mixed-race person living on-and-off a First Nations reservation. I do this as a way to educate and entertain readers as well as to work through my personal traumas. I also like exploring the relation humans have to their environment and to technology.
Artist statement
During my time at Grant MacEwan I worked on some zines and comics for various classes. Some were printed and binded while others were only available in a digital format. Various themes, such as loss, home, and self-discovery, are explored throughout the works.
