Artist statement
My work explores love and the freedom to love as well as my trauma and my identity. Growth as an artist and as a person is imperative to me — I am always learning new skills and implementing them into my practice and my life.
I am interested in how different people occupy space in the world and in society. What starts out as pain soon becomes empowerment and beauty, leaving behind a sense of hope for the people of today and future generations. Being an interdisciplinary artist is integral to my work because it allows for me to continue to learn and express these themes fully.
Through exploration and experimentation, identities are clarified; through love and empathy, connections are created.
