Artist statement
I first started making art with graphite because it was what I used as a child, then my father introduced me to photography which I took an interest in. Now, my artistic practice consists of both traditional and digital mediums which include graphite, oil and acrylic paint, digital painting, and photography.
My work mainly focuses on semi-realistic and landscape pieces, which are then translated into portraits. As an alternative way to showcase my work in a travel friendly way, I have recently been exploring book binding and zines. I am interested in human anatomy and how each individual is different from one another, both physically and mentally. Hence, I am very big on individual growth, and world and character development. One of my biggest inspirations is Haoyo Miyazaki, who is well known for his character development and world building. Charlie Bowater, an illustrator who specializes in character design and development, also has a heavy influence on my artwork.
