Applied Macaulay2 Tutorials

Synopsis

Preceding the SIAM Applied Algebraic Geometry meeting there will be three full days of M2 tutorials on July 27-29 (Thu-Sat), taking place at Georgia Tech. These tutorials are intended to appeal to participants with any level of prior M2 experience. The topics will range from the basic functionality of M2 to modeling problems in the M2 language to more specialized tutorials on algebraic statistics and numerical algebraic geometry. We will also reserve ample time for practice and Q&A sessions.

Registration is free, but please fill the form here. The deadline to apply for financial support (for local expenses) is May 15, 2017. Priority will be given to students and early career participants.

Venue

All activities will take place on the 0-th floor of Skiles Classroom building (see the map above) in the rooms 005 and 006. Registration desk will be in front of these rooms.

Accommodation

We have reserved a block of rooms at Crowne Plaza (Atlanta Midtown) hotel, which is walking distance from the tutorials and main conference site. The daily rate is $60+tax (double occupancy). We will e-mail registered participants to coordinate roommate assignments.

We will book and prepay the accommodation from July 26th to 30th for funded participants. There will be an option to stay in the same room for the same rate throughout the entire SIAM conference, that is, from July 26 through August 5.
