adblue solutions

What is adblue

Adblue is a solution made up of urea and water which is injected into the vehicle’s exhaust system, reacting with the Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) before it leaves the exhaust, breaking it down into harmless nitrogen and oxygen. It does this by turning into ammonia and it’s this process that breaks down the NOx and significantly reduces the amount of NOx particles in exhaust emissions. The process is managed by a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system.

Why use

Aside from the warm fuzzy feeling you’ll get, knowing you’re doing your bit to save the planet, there are some other reasons you need to use Adblue®:

  1. Since 1992 the European Union has imposed limits of emissions through their “Euro Standards” and all heavy vehicles must comply in order to reduce their level of NOx emissions.

  2. These standards also apply to cars (the latest one being Euro 6), so if you’re driving a newer diesel car chances are it needs Adblue® in order for you to actually make it go, which is a pretty basic requirement to get from A to B.

AdBlue is Environmentally Friendly

AdBlue is an environmentally friendly product, and not just because it reduces emissions as mentioned above. The product itself is classified in the safe minimum risk category for transportable fluids in the UK, meaning that those vehicles that use diesel, aren’t creating any further dangers for themselves or those on the roads around them. By using AdBlue, the motoring industry can be a little more environmentally friendly and help in some way to save the planet.
