I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, in the Department of International Development.

I am also an Academy Scholar at the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies. 

My research interests lie at the intersection of development economics, political economy, and economic history, focusing on the Middle East.
