Lydia Assouad

Between January 2024 and June 2025, I am an Academy Scholar at the Harvard Academy for International and Area Studies. 

I am also an Assistant Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, in the Department of International Development (on leave).

My research interests lie at the intersection of development economics, political economy, and economic history, focusing on the Middle East.
