UX & Data Visualization

Luz Calvo holds a PhD in Data Visualization from the Universitat de Barcelona and is a UX and Data Visualization specialist with over 15 years of experience designing digital products and dashboards across sectors such as banking, healthcare, science, climate, and smart cities. She currently works at CaixaBank Tech, where she leads experience definition and Design Ops methodologies within the Data Visualization area.

She has collaborated with organizations such as the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and Abzu.ai, as well as on projects for clients including Aguas de Barcelona, Repsol, and Copernicus.

Her profile combines a strong foundation in psychology, UX research, and interaction design with a technical focus on data visualization.

In addition, she is a university lecturer in data visualization at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, UNIR, and the Universitat de Girona, among other institutions, with a strong focus on reducing cognitive load and supporting informed decision-making.
