My fourth quarter project for Engineering 3 followed the fishing theme of my third quarter project, but instead of milling a mold for a soft-bait, I milled the lure itself out of metal. This project was completed on our shop's Tormach 1100 and was milled out of 6061 aluminum. Post-machining, I placed two split rings on my machined holes, and a treble hook on the lure's tail. Tests have proven fruitful, and I have landed a couple species of Rock Cod with my lure.
