This SERVICE is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of information if anyone decides to use our Service.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

LuxVoice is designed to be a simple and privacy-focused application. We do not require you to create an account or provide any personally identifiable information like your name or email address to use our app.

The information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Service.

1. Text-to-Speech (TTS) Functionality

When you use the Text-to-Speech feature, the text you enter is sent to a third-party service to be converted into audio.

• Data Collected: The Luxembourgish text you enter for conversion.

• Third-Party Service: We use the sproochmaschinn.lu API to process the text-to-speech request. Your text is sent to their servers for this purpose. We encourage you to review their privacy policy to understand how they handle data.

• Data Storage: We do not store the text you enter on our servers. The text is processed in real-time and discarded after the audio is generated.

2. Speech-to-Text (STT) Functionality

To use the Speech-to-Text feature, the app requires permission to access your device's microphone.

• Microphone Permission: The app will explicitly ask for your consent to access the microphone. This permission is solely used to capture audio for transcription. The microphone is only active when you press the record button.

• Data Collected: Audio recordings of your voice.

• On-Device Storage: An audio file is temporarily stored in the app's private cache on your device. This file is overwritten with each new recording and is used solely to send to the transcription service.

• Third-Party Service: The temporarily stored audio file is sent securely via HTTPS to the sproochmaschinn.lu API for transcription.

• Data Storage: We do not store your audio recordings or the resulting transcriptions on our servers. The transcribed text is displayed within the app and is removed when you close the app or perform a new transcription.

3. Translation Functionality

When you use the translation feature, the text you enter is sent to our backend server, which uses the Laratranslator service to translate your text from any language to Luxembourgish.

• Data Collected: The text you submit for translation.

• Third-Party Service: Our backend server uses Laratranslator to process translation requests. The text is sent to Laratranslator’s servers for this purpose. We encourage you to review their privacy policy to understand how they handle data.

• Data Storage: We do not store the text you enter on our servers. The text is processed in real-time and discarded after the translation is completed.

4. Advertising and Google AdMob

LuxVoice uses Google AdMob to display ads within the app. AdMob, a service provided by Google, may collect and use certain information from your device to show relevant ads, including but not limited to:

• Device information (such as device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers)

• Advertising identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID)

• Usage data (such as app usage and interactions with ads)

• Location data (if permitted by your device settings)

AdMob may use cookies and similar technologies to personalize ads and measure their effectiveness. For more information on how Google collects and uses data, please review the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Managing Your Consent: You can modify your ad consent preferences at any time by opening the app and navigating to Settings > Privacy Settings. 

Third-Party Services

• sproochmaschinn.lu API: Used for text-to-speech and speech-to-text processing. This third party has access to the text or audio data you provide for the explicit purpose of performing the requested task (TTS or STT) on our behalf. They are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

• Google AdMob: Used to serve advertisements within the app. AdMob may collect device and usage data as described above.

Data Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. All data transmitted between the LuxVoice app and the sproochmaschinn.lu API is sent securely using modern cryptography (HTTPS). While we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your information, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

GDPR Data Protection Rights (European Economic Area) 

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain data protection rights. We aim to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data.

In certain circumstances, you have the following data protection rights:

• The right to withdraw consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time where LuxVoice relied on your consent to process your personal information. You can do this within the app by navigating to Settings > Privacy Settings.

• The right to object: You have the right to object to our processing of your Personal Data (such as for advertising purposes).

• The right to complain: You have the right to complain to a Data Protection Authority about our collection and use of your Personal Data.

US State Privacy Rights

If you are a resident of certain US states, including California, you have specific rights regarding your personal information:

• Right to Know & Delete: You have the right to request access to the personal information we collect and to request its deletion.

• Right to Opt-Out of "Sale" or "Sharing": Under applicable state laws, allowing third-party advertising networks (like Google AdMob) to collect identifiers and usage data for personalized advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You have the right to opt-out of this.

• How to Opt-Out: You can exercise your right to opt-out of personalized advertising at any time by opening the app and navigating to Settings > Privacy Settings.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16. If we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
