Lux Expense is designed as an offline-first personal finance application.
Lux Expense ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy and giving you control over your financial information.
This Privacy Policy explains how Lux Expense handles information when you download, install, or use the Lux Expense mobile application (the "App").
Lux Expense is designed around an offline-first architecture, meaning that the App does not require an online account or cloud backend to store or manage your financial records.
By downloading, installing, or using Lux Expense, you acknowledge and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Lux Expense does not operate external database servers, cloud synchronization backends, or remote storage systems for your financial records.
Your financial records are not transmitted to us through the App.
The following information is stored locally within the App's device storage:
Expense records
Income records
Transaction details
Custom categories
Payment modes
Notes
User preferences
Local application settings
This information is designed to remain within the App's local storage on your device.
Lux Expense does not require you to create an account.
The App does not require:
Email registration
Phone number verification
User profiles
Password-based online accounts
Cloud account synchronization
Lux Expense provides local security features intended to help protect your financial records from unauthorized access to the App.
The App allows you to protect access using a 4-digit Master PIN.
The PIN and associated security information are stored using the device's protected local storage mechanisms. The App also incorporates rate-limiting and lockout mechanisms intended to help mitigate automated brute-force attempts.
Where supported by the device, Lux Expense can use the operating system's native biometric authentication framework, such as fingerprint or face authentication.
Lux Expense does not access, scan, collect, or store your biometric templates.
Biometric verification is performed by the device's operating system.
Lux Expense may allow you to generate an offline recovery key for account-access recovery if you forget your Master PIN.
Recovery information is stored locally on your device and is not verified or synchronized through an external server.
Lux Expense provides an Android Home Screen Widget that can display high-level financial summaries.
The widget may display information such as:
Net Balance
Inflow
Outflow
Monthly summaries
The widget obtains these summaries from local application data on your device.
Widget synchronization takes place locally on the device.
The widget does not transmit your financial information, analytics, or usage metrics to a remote server.
Lux Expense provides local tools for backing up and exporting your financial records.
You may export your transaction ledger into a password-protected backup file.
Restoring the backup requires the password used when the backup was created.
When restoring a backup:
The backup file is read locally.
The file is validated and parsed on the device.
You can choose how the restored information should be handled.
Existing records can be overwritten or missing records can be merged, depending on the available restore option.
The restoration process does not require uploading your backup to a Lux Expense server.
Financial statements and CSV reports are generated locally on your device.
When you explicitly choose a file to import or export, Lux Expense may request the required operating-system file access.
The App uses this access for the specific backup or document file you select.
Lux Expense does not intentionally browse, inspect, or modify unrelated:
Photos
Videos
Personal documents
Media files
Other unrelated files
Lux Expense does not contain advertising networks, banner advertisements, or advertising tracking pixels.
Lux Expense does not use third-party analytics services such as:
Google Analytics
Firebase Analytics
Similar behavioral analytics platforms
The App does not use such services to track your sessions, behavior, or engagement.
Lux Expense does not transmit crash logs, hardware identifiers, or diagnostic telemetry to remote servers.
Because financial records are stored locally on your device, Lux Expense does not maintain a remote copy of your financial records.
You control the retention and deletion of locally stored information.
The App may provide tools that allow you to filter and permanently delete historical transactions older than a selected period, such as:

The "Erase Vault" feature allows you to permanently remove locally stored Lux Expense information, including:
Transactions
Custom categories
Payment options
Security settings
Other locally stored application data associated with the vault
Because this operation is intended to be permanent, you should create a backup before using it if you may need the information later.
Uninstalling Lux Expense generally removes the App's locally stored application data from the device.
Any exported backup files, PDF files, or CSV files that you previously saved outside the App may remain on your device and are not automatically deleted by uninstalling the App.
Lux Expense is an offline personal finance utility and does not intentionally collect, solicit, or process personal information from users, including children under the age of 13.
Because the App does not require user registration or transmit financial records to our servers, we do not maintain an online database of children's personal information.
We use the App's offline-first architecture and available device-level security mechanisms to help protect locally stored information.
However, no method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, including:
Device lock/passcode
Master PIN
Recovery information
Backup passwords
Exported backup files
You should not share your Master PIN or backup password with unauthorized individuals.
We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect:
App functionality changes
New privacy practices
Security improvements
Changes required for Google Play compliance
Changes to applicable legal or regulatory requirements
When this Privacy Policy is updated, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be changed accordingly.

Your transactions, categories, payment modes, notes, and preferences are stored on your device. The App does not require an online account, does not operate a cloud database for your financial records, and does not use advertising or behavioral analytics services.
You can create local backups and reports, manage your records, and erase your locally stored data directly from the App.
