Which States Have Imposed Bans on Vape Products?

1. California

California was the second state to enforce a ban on flavored vapes back in 2020 in response to the rising concern that these flavors attract minors to smoke tobacco or nicotine. While flavored devices aren’t available in physical stores, you can buy them online.

2. Colorado

Colorado started a ban on flavored vapes on 1st Jan 2024. This law bans all flavored vape products, but not tobacco and menthol. Colorado has even increased the age limit of buyers to 21.

3. Connecticut

Just like Colorado, Connecticut has enforced a ban on the use of flavored tobacco. It’s also illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to buy vapes here.

4. Delaware

Here, no one can buy or sell flavored, disposable vapes. The legal age to purchase tobacco and vaping products in Delaware is 21.

5. Florida

A law has been passed in Florida to raise the legal age of buying tobacco to 21. The law also banned vaping flavors devoid of tobacco.

6. Massachusetts

Massachusetts was the first state to enforce a ban on flavored vapes in 2019. This ban prohibits the sale of all flavored vapes except tobacco.

7. New Jersey

No vaping flavors are allowed in New Jersey, except tobacco. In fact, this state has even increased the tax on vaping products.

8. New York

New York also passed a ban on flavored vapes in 2020. Flavored products aren’t available online, either. Those who reside in New York can buy vape products of any kind over the web.

9. Rhode Island

Rhode Island has also passed a permanent ban on flavored tobacco products in 2020. This law bans all flavors except tobacco.

10. Georgia

As long as you purchase them from licensed retailers, vapes are legal in Georgia. However, the state did implement a ban on online sales.

Consumers must understand the legal landscape of bans imposed on vape products. It’s best to remain compliant with the legal regulations to avoid paying fines and purchasing black market merchandise by accident.
