Toward a light ultra-high-performance nanoscopy
Our research is aimed at developing the next generation of light nanoscopies that may drive the revolution of our everyday life by visualizing the nanoscale world beyond the diffraction limit of light. Recent discoveries in metamaterials have added new functionalities and possibilities to this exciting research field and led to substantial improvements in imaging modality, resolution, and speed. Our research will keep laying stepping stones to achieve an ideal optical imaging system with metamaterials.
Our lab covers a broad range of research topics including (1) the fundamental study of light-matter interaction, (2) the design and characterization of engineered optical materials, and (3) the development of advanced imaging schemes, innovative optical systems, and reconstruction algorithms, such that (4) collaborative bio-applications will be enabled with the imaging technologies that we are developing, as shown in the figure below.
