Lumen is a mobile learning application. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Account information (optional):
- If you sign in with Google: your name and email address provided by Google.
- If you sign in with Apple: your name and email address (or the relay address Apple provides).
- If you use the app without signing in: a randomly generated anonymous user ID is created automatically. No personal information is collected.
Learning progress:
- Lessons completed, quiz scores, streaks, and daily session history.
- Selected track, preferred language, and daily-time goal set during onboarding.
Device information:
- Push notification token (only if you grant notification permission).
- General device locale used to serve content in your language.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, microphone, or camera data.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To sync your learning progress across devices when you are signed in.
- To send optional push reminders for your daily study goal.
- To personalise the content language and track selection.
- To improve the app based on aggregated, anonymous usage patterns.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
Lumen uses the following services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication, cloud database, and file storage. firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Google Sign-In — optional sign-in method. policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple Sign-In — optional sign-in method (iOS). apple.com/legal/privacy
- Expo / EAS — app delivery and over-the-air updates. expo.dev/privacy
4. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. Anonymous accounts inactive for more than 12 months may be deleted. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
5. Children's Privacy
Lumen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete
it.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. disable notifications in device settings).
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
