What is your experience of a crazy amount of grace? When were you blindsided, knocked over by grace and by the love of God?
How do we live out our faith in action? When will we get beyond the old argument of faith or works and realize that it is both - love is shown through action and action must be rooted in articulate love.
How are you transformed by the love of God in Jesus? How has it changed your life? And if it hasn't, then have you truly accepted Jesus' call to discipleship?
"Jesus demonstrated his love for us, his 'lambs' and 'sheep,' by laying down his life for us. When we are told to feed his sheep, we are being entrusted with his most valued possession. Jesus identifies the proper motivation for Christian ministry. He asks the one great question that must be reflected upon and answered by each person in ministry: 'Do you love me?" As with Peter's response, our answer to this question cannot be superficial.... True and effective ministry to God's people must flow out of our love for Christ. Our love for Jesus is reflected in our love for his sheep. This love is our calling."
-African Study Bible
The Lenten Calendar we completed during March raised over $500 for World Central Kitchen. They utilize local restaurants/chefs/resources to put immediate boots to the ground helping people in crisis. Thank you, Lakeview for helping take care of others as we're called by God to do.
The Bible Journaling group is going to take a mini-break for the month of May, then resume meeting again in June. Mark your calendars.
Special thanks to all those who helped at our Spring Yard Sale. Linda Ancion was our amazing organizer, and so many people donated items, priced, baked, cooked hot dogs, worked, packed, and cleaned up to make it a very productive day. We sold 60 hot dogs by 10:30! Thank you everyone! We made approximately $2,000.
The Hiking Group: 4pm on Mondays at City Park
Becky had a quiz for us to fill in the blanks. Name the wildflowers. Some answers were on the trail. You had a choice to seriously answer or else you could write funny answers. We, of course, had at least one comedian. Want to give it a try? You're missing out if you don't join the group!

Planning a reception for the new pastor. Yard sale was a success, nearly $2,000 raised. Will have more hot dogs next time and add a person to the kitchen to pack to-go orders. Looking to have the fall yard sale on the same day as the citywide yard sale. It worked out taking individual trips to donate the leftover items, rather than waiting for a truck.
Transition/worship: Karen
Sam is here until June 22. Sheila starts July 1. Fifth Sunday service will be June 29 at St. Peter's at 10 a.m. Worship times discussed: Lakeview wants to keep the 9:30 a.m. slot and to ensure the pastor can stay until the end of the service.

Holy Week went well. He's finished covering at Humphreys. Talked about the transition coming up as an opportunity to adapt and grow and for Lakeview to reflect on what we want as a church and possibilities.
