A million thanks to Kent Sowards, our sound system guru, who is keeping our services running smoothly regarding music, while we conduct a search for a new organist. He deserves a comfortable gamer's chair in tech heaven! We are so appreciative!
Chair Yoga, Lakeview United Methodist Church, 9:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Community Room! Questions? Martha is our unofficial leader, give her a call!
Bible Journaling......Every Thursday, from 10:00 - 11:00am. While we're each illustrating/coloring whatever Bible verse we've selected (lots of examples available), we listen to a chapter from an inspirational book study, after possible sharing and discussion, end with a meaningful prayer. Drawing skill not required. Questions? Call Karen
Come to Lakeview's Sukkot Dinner where Nancy Smith will share with us the origin of this harvest festival and its special link with us to the past. On Sunday, October 12th, at 5pm a dinner will be provided (leftover BBQ, hot dogs, chips, & dessert from the Yard Sale) all you have to do is come. Consider bringing some canned food that we will donate to the SA Food Pantry. We'll explore a sukkah, then participate in some table games building teamwork, followed by an introduction to our new "Keys to Building Our Faith" board. It promises to be an evening of good food, fellowship, and learning. See you there!
Lakeview will be celebrating "Nativity Sunday" on Sunday, December 14th. We hope all families will be willing to set up and share one of their favorite Nativity sets that hold perhaps a special meaning for them. Share that story on an index card we can display by your set. Adults will have a chance to visit the exhibits while children are creating their own "rock garden Nativity." After a snack dinner, Ms. Nancy will retell the Christmas story with children. They will reenact the story in costume and the evening will conclude with a birthday party for Jesus. Mark you calendars for a meaningful evening!
Sunday, November 30th, is the fifth Sunday in November, which means all Methodist churches in St. Albans gather for one service together. It will be at Humphreys UMC in Tornado, at 10:00am, followed by lunch together. Lakeview's Charge Conference will be scheduled sometime after the service at that church. More details to come.
Thank you to so many people who helped make our fall Yard Sale a success! To all those who donated items, baked cookies, served sandwiches, priced items, and helped box up leftover stuff to donate to Goodwill, we appreciate you! We couldn't do it, however, without our fearless leader, Linda Ancion. The following pic was candidly taken of her the week before, making sure all the big and little details were handled.

Mark your calendars for our Fall Covered Dish Dinner, November 2nd, at 5:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Yum!
Lakeview Church provides 12 snack bags each week to Lakewood Elementary for students who don't have a secure food source over the weekend. Martha & Kent do a wonderful job shopping sales and securing the best deals for any money donated to this cause. The donation jar is getting low and we're asking anyone who feels led to contribute to do so. If you designate the donation to Lakewood Snack Bags, Martha & Kent will be happy to do the shopping for you.
Welcome Daniel, our new custodian, who is joining the Lakeview UMC team. Hope he's hearing all the compliments about the great job he's doing.
