Language of Silence. 2021
Collaborative performance between Maja Reen & Luís Trindade.Maja is Polish and lives in Zurich, Luís is Portuguese and lives in Lisbon. They met through a home exchange website but quickly began discussing each other's artistic work. After a brief visit by Maja Reen to Portugal, they considered the possibility of carrying out a joint project. They agreed to meet without speaking, using only the "language of silence."The performance took place in Lisbon, at 'Jardim da Estrela,' on September 12, 2021. For about 40 minutes, they sat on a park bench, contemplating their surroundings and observing each other. They experienced various feelings, with full attention and focus, but without commenting on them, letting them pass.Ver vídeo no IG
Breaking Down. 2021The inspiration behind this project came from observing structures erected by visitors to the Serra da Estrela park, which integrate into the natural environment without anyone daring to interfere with them. These accumulations of stones, without practical function or cultural significance, represent a human intrusion into the natural landscape. Through "Breaking Down," the artist questions our relationship with nature and how we shape the world around us, often without considering the consequences.Ver Vídeo 17s.
