Effective date: 28 August 2026
LucidGrid Shadows stores puzzle progress and preferences locally on the user's device and does not require a user account.
Some releases may display advertising supplied through Google AdMob. When advertising is enabled, Google and participating advertising partners may process limited device and usage data for ad delivery, measurement, analytics, personalisation where permitted, and fraud prevention.
Consent and privacy choices are provided where required.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Android game LucidGrid Shadows, developed and published by LucidGrid, package name com.lucidgrid.shadows.
It applies to releases distributed with or without advertising.
Application: LucidGrid Shadows
Developer: LucidGrid
Package name: com.lucidgrid.shadows
Privacy contact: [PUBLIC PRIVACY EMAIL]
LucidGrid Shadows does not require an account.
To provide game functionality, the app stores limited gameplay information in its private local storage, which may include:
unfinished puzzle progress and entered values;
elapsed puzzle time and hints used;
completion status and gameplay statistics;
Daily Shadow completion and streak information; and
appearance, accessibility, haptic and gameplay preferences.
LucidGrid does not receive this gameplay information and does not use it to identify the user.
Depending on the user's Android and device-backup settings, the operating system or device provider may include app data in a backup. Such backups are controlled by the platform or backup provider, not by LucidGrid.
Some versions of LucidGrid Shadows may display in-app advertising, including banner, rewarded or other ad formats, through Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
If the installed version does not display advertising, the app does not initiate AdMob ad requests and the advertising-related processing described in sections 4 to 7 does not occur through LucidGrid Shadows.
LucidGrid does not use a separate general-purpose analytics or crash-reporting SDK in the current design. However, when AdMob is enabled, the Google Mobile Ads SDK processes advertising interactions and diagnostic information as described below.
According to Google's documentation, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share the following categories of data:
IP address, which may be used to estimate the device's general location;
user product interactions, such as app launches, taps, ad interactions and video views;
diagnostic information about the app and SDK, such as launch performance, hangs and energy usage; and
device and account identifiers, which may include the Android advertising ID, app set ID and other identifiers where applicable.
LucidGrid does not receive users' names, email addresses, contacts, precise GPS location, photographs, messages or similar personal content through AdMob.
LucidGrid may receive aggregated advertising reports, such as impressions, clicks, estimated revenue and broad performance information. Those reports are not intended to identify an individual user.
When advertising is enabled, Google and participating advertising partners may process data to:
request, select, deliver and display advertisements;
personalise advertisements where the user has consented and the law permits;
provide non-personalised, contextual or limited advertisements where appropriate;
cap how often an advertisement is shown;
measure advertisement delivery and performance;
produce aggregated advertising reports;
detect invalid traffic, fraud, abuse and security threats; and
maintain and improve advertising services.
Choosing non-personalised or limited advertising does not necessarily stop all technical processing.
Depending on the serving mode, information such as IP address, basic device information, local storage or identifiers may still be used where permitted for ad delivery, frequency capping, aggregated reporting, security and fraud prevention.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and other places where consent or privacy choices are required, an AdMob-enabled version of LucidGrid Shadows uses Google's User Messaging Platform consent-management tools to request and record applicable choices before requesting ads.
Depending on the user's location and choices, the app may request personalised, non-personalised, limited or technical ads.
Where Google's consent platform requires a continuing privacy entry point, LucidGrid Shadows provides a Privacy choices option within the app so the user can review or withdraw choices.
Users may also manage advertising settings through Android and Google account controls, including resetting or deleting the Android advertising ID and changing ad-personalisation settings.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal.
Advertising data is sent to Google through the Google Mobile Ads SDK.
Google may use advertising partners and ad-technology providers to deliver, measure and protect advertising services. Where a consent message is required, the message identifies the relevant purposes and providers or provides access to that information.
Google processes information under its own privacy terms and controls. Information about Google's handling of data from apps using Google services is available in Google's Privacy Policy and Google's explanation of how it uses information from partner apps.
If LucidGrid later adds a separate mediation SDK or another provider that processes additional categories of data, this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety disclosure will be reviewed and updated as necessary.
LucidGrid Shadows does not request access to contacts, camera, microphone, photographs, SMS, call logs or precise device location for gameplay or advertising.
An AdMob-enabled version requires internet access to request and display advertisements and may use basic network-state information.
General location may be estimated from an IP address without requesting precise-location permission.
Optional haptic feedback uses the device's normal vibration capability and can be controlled in the app's settings.
LucidGrid does not sell personal data for money.
When AdMob is enabled, the app shares the advertising-related data described in this policy with Google and applicable advertising partners for the purposes described above.
Google Play and Android may independently process information when a user downloads, installs, updates, reviews or backs up the app. That processing is controlled by Google, Android or the relevant device or backup provider and is governed by their own privacy notices and account settings.
Local gameplay information is kept within the app's private storage area and is protected by safeguards provided by Android and the user's device.
Google's documentation states that data collected by the Google Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security.
Google and its service providers may process advertising data in countries other than the user's country. Their processing, international-transfer safeguards and security measures are governed by Google's privacy terms and applicable law.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but LucidGrid takes reasonable steps to limit the data handled by the app and to use established platform and SDK safeguards.
Local gameplay data and settings remain in the app's storage until the user resets relevant progress, clears the app's storage through Android settings or uninstalls LucidGrid Shadows.
Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes the local copy. A separate device backup, if enabled, is governed by the relevant platform or backup provider's retention and deletion controls.
LucidGrid Shadows does not create user accounts and LucidGrid does not maintain a server-side gameplay profile. There is therefore no LucidGrid account or remote gameplay record to delete.
Advertising data processed by Google is retained and deleted according to Google's policies, settings and legal obligations.
LucidGrid generally cannot identify or directly delete data held only by Google because LucidGrid does not receive the raw identifiers. Users can use Google's privacy and advertising controls or contact Google regarding Google-controlled data.
Support and privacy correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate records, resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations.
LucidGrid Shadows is a general-audience logic puzzle game and does not ask users to provide a name, email address, date of birth or account details.
Where the app's target-audience configuration, applicable law or a known user status requires child-directed or under-age treatment, LucidGrid configures the relevant Google advertising signals so that personalised advertising is not served.
Parents or guardians may contact LucidGrid with privacy questions at [PUBLIC PRIVACY EMAIL].
Depending on location, users may have rights regarding personal data, including rights to information, access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability and withdrawal of consent.
If a user contacts LucidGrid by email, LucidGrid receives the sender's email address and message content and uses that information to respond, provide support, investigate issues or meet legal obligations. It is not used to personalise advertising.
Because LucidGrid does not maintain user accounts or receive raw AdMob identifiers, LucidGrid may hold little or no other information that can be linked to a specific user.
Privacy enquiries can be sent to [PUBLIC PRIVACY EMAIL]. Requests concerning data controlled by Google may also need to be made through Google's privacy controls or directly to Google.
LucidGrid may update this Privacy Policy when the app's features, advertising configuration, service providers, legal requirements or data practices change.
The revised policy will be published at the same public address with a new effective date.
This policy is written to cover both advert-free releases and releases using the planned Google AdMob implementation.
It will still be reviewed if LucidGrid adds accounts, cloud saves, purchases involving additional data, a separate analytics service, mediation SDKs, other advertising providers or materially different data processing.
