"We're very excited to see Caleb pitch at the Division I JUCO level," said LPG CEO Jake Luce. luce prospect group completes fourth year of 100% success rate, adds top prospects to 2019/2020 class

The month of June 2018 was one to remember for the Luce Prospect Group. LPG wrapped up it's 4th year in a row of 100% of Luce Prospects accepting scholarship opportunities to compete at the collegiate level. There were 9 total scholarships accepted in the LPG Class of 2018, including two Division I commits (Brian Hamilton & Chase Spinning), who both signed with Division I University of New Mexico.

Additionally, LPG added three high school Prospects in the last 6 weeks, including Ryan Ahearn (Leon HS, TX), Zach Rumley (Incarnate Word Academy, TX) and Garrett Shannon (Prosper HS, TX).

"All three of these Prospects bring different things to the table," said LPG CEO Jake Luce. "Ryan is a young catcher with all the right tools, he's a Class of 2020 kid that will help someone win at the college level. Zach and Garrett are in the Class of 2019, with Zach being an infielder that can really swing it; Garrett is a left-handed pitcher with big-time upside. Our scouts think he can get outs right now at the collegiate level. Most importantly, all three of these kids have top-notch grades, high-quality character, and are from good families. They will fit right in to our culture here at LPG."

LPG INKS TALENTED TWO-SPORT ATHLETE TO HIGH-POWERED CLASS OF 2018

The Luce Prospect Group has signed Leonard High School's (TX) starting catcher, Michael Shulze.

Michael Shulze, a two-sport athlete (baseball & football), is coming off his most productive varsity seasons to-date. In 2017, Shulze hit .362 and stole 13 bases for Leonard High School (TX). Shulze also showed power and speed at the plate, collecting 6 doubles, 4 triples, and posted an OBP of .467.

"I can't wait to get rolling," said Shulze in the days leading up to signing with LPG. "I'm extremely excited to see what I can accomplish with LPG, and I'm proud to be part of The Elite."

In addition to performing well on the diamond, Shulze showed productivity on the gridiron, as well. The junior wide receiver hauled in 29 passes for Leonard High School for 317 total yards, and averaged 10.9 yards per reception.

"There's no doubt we're excited to add Michael to an already talented Class of 2018," commented CEO Jake Luce. "I knew Michael would be a great fit after the first time I saw him play. His work ethic is off the charts, and he takes care of his business off the field and in the classroom. College coaches love multi-sport athletes. I'm interested to monitor his progress over the next several months."

When asked what sport he wants to play in college, Shulze did not hesitate. "Baseball," he said. "Baseball is my first love."

Shulze joins the LPG Family along with his mother, Cindi Kent.

Lorenzoni Commits on Full-Ride! Becomes 12th Luce Prospect in Class of 2017 to Accept Scholarship

Nick Lorenzoni has accepted a full-ride scholarship to attend Olney Central College in Illinois.

OCC, a Division I-JUCO program, currently holds a record of 35-7 for the 2017 Regular Season.

"I'm really excited," commented Lorenzoni. "Baseball is baseball no matter where it is in the country. I definitely couldn't have done it without LPG's help." Lorenzoni signed with LPG on February 15, 2016. Now, almost 16 months later, he will be able to continue his education and playing career on a full-ride scholarship beginning in the Fall of 2017.

"We're very excited for Nick and the Lorenzoni Family," said LPG Founder Jake Luce. "Nick called me and told me multiple times how he couldn't have done it without us. I stressed to him that he was the one that put in the hard work. I'm just glad LPG was able play a role in helping him carve out his future."

This is the 12th Luce Prospect in the Class of 2017 that has accepted a scholarship to play at the next level.

Only four Prospects in the Class of 2017 remain unsigned. All four have received interest from college programs.

NUNEZ COMMITS TO NAIA POWERHOUSE WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERISTY

EL-PASO JUCO (TX) OUTFIELDER BRYAN NUNEZ HAS SIGNED A FULL-RIDE SCHOLARSHIP WITH WAYLAND BAPTIST UNIVERSITY, WILL JOIN CLASS OF 2016 OUTFIELDER REED MCDONALD

When the 6'4, 195 lb. Bryan Nunez first signed with the Luce Prospect Group in 2015, he not only needed a scholarship. He needed a passport, too.

"I remember signing Bryan out of the Dominican for $200," said LPG Founder Jake Luce. "Our normal investment is $7500 from parents. Bryan signed on with LPG for $200, and now he will have earned about $60,000 in college scholarship money."

Nunez visited Wayland Baptist earlier in the week and committed while he was on campus. "He did the little things right," said Recruiting Coordinator Todd Weldon (@TWeldon25). "In particular, we liked how Bryan communicated very well in the outfield. We look for guys that know how to do the little things right. Bryan showed us what we needed to see. Coach Bass and all of us on staff are excited to get him on-board."

This is the eleventh Class of 2017 Prospect to sign a scholarship for LPG.

HAYNES COMMITS! ACCEPTS SCHOLARSHIP TO SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY

BECOMES 10TH LUCE PROSPECT IN CLASS OF 2017 TO COMMIT, total lpg scholarship dollars earned surpasses $3 million since 2014

Nathaniel Haynes, who signed with LPG in February 2016, has officially accepted a scholarship to continue his education and playing career at Southwestern University (TX).

The news comes on the heels of Luce Prospect Joey Leondike accepting a scholarship to William Jewell (MO) earlier this week.

"Needless to say, we've had a busy week here at LPG," commented Founder/CEO Jake Luce. "When Nathaniel called and told me, I couldn't help but smile. This kid has worked extremely hard over the past 14 months in order to put himself in a position to be successful. That phone call sealed the deal; he's earned it."

Haynes announced his commitment on Twitter earlier this week, and included the following message...

"I am super excited and blessed to announce that I have committed to play baseball for Southwestern University next year! I have to thank God for blessing me with this opportunity, and the ability to keep playing this wonderful game every day. Thank you to my parents for always being there for me and being my #1 fans my whole life. Thank you to Jake and the Luce Prospect Group. Leondike Commits! Becomes 9th Luce Prospect To Accept Scholarship in LPG Class of 2017

William Jewell College (MO) has snagged another Luce Prospect pitcher. This time, it's right-hander Joey Leondike.

Leondike, a product of The Colony High School (TX) spent the last two years at Redlands JUCO in Oklahoma. Leondike signed with LPG on June 6, 2016 and, less than a year later, will have the opportunity to further his playing career and education at the next level. While at Redlands, Leondike maintained a GPA of 3.8.

"I couldn't have done it without LPG," commented Leondike. He is the ninth Luce Prospect that has accepted a scholarship in 2017, raising the total scholarship dollars earned for this class alone to over $300,000.

"We let our results speak for us," said LPG Founder Jake Luce. "Our Prospects are the ones putting in the work. Joey's consistent work ethic on the field and in the classroom has paid off. I've worked out with him several times; he is the definition of what a Luce Prospect is. He's kept his head down, worked extremely hard, and has earned this terrific opportunity to play at the next level."

"We're definitely excited to bring Joey in," said William Jewell College Recruiting Coordinator Jason Middleton. "We think he will be a great fit."

Leondike came to LPG while on the mend from a previous injury and regularly attended the LPG Elite Training Program last summer (see interview below) in order to get to full strength. He will join fellow Luce Prospect Brandon Valentine, who accepted a scholarship to William Jewell earlier this year. "It's really great news," said Chris Valentine, Brandon's father. "It's really good that (Joey and Brandon) will both know someone going up there now."

There are now six remaining Prospects available in the Class of 2017, most of whom already have offers on the table.

"I think college coaches are starting to realize the type of talent we have at LPG from top to bottom," said Luce. "I'm looking forward to seeing where our final six Prospects end up. These next few weeks should be very exciting."

BREAKING: CLASS OF 2017 RHP PEPPER JONES COMMITS TO NAVARRO ON baseball scholarship

The last few months have been a whirlwind for Luce Prospect Pepper Jones. For now, things will calm down as the 2017 season gets underway. Jones has committed to Navarro JUCO (TX) on a baseball scholarship.

"I talked with Pep last night," said LPG Founder Jake Luce. "I told him that this is the best part about my job: receiving that phone call when one of our Prospects commits. I couldn't be more happy for him and the rest of his family. It's very exciting."

Jones' consistent fastball is what has separated him from his peers; a pitch that has touched 91 mph on several occasions. "Pep compliments his velocity by throwing a hard slider and good changeup," continued Luce. "He keeps hitters off-balance and hides the ball well. When he's on, he's very tough to beat."

Pepper also sports a 4.0 GPA at McKinney High School, and is slated to be at the top of the rotation and the starting shortstop for the Lions in 2017.

This is the SIXTH Luce Prospect to commit in the last 6 weeks, bringing the total scholarship dollar amount to over $265,000.
