Luca Tamanini
Assistant Professor - Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore
I am a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (RTDb) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Brescia. In 2023 I attained the Italian Habilitation (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale) as Associate Professor in sector 01/A3 "Mathematical Analysis, Probability and Statistics".
Research interests
In my PhD thesis I studied the Schrödinger problem (an entropy minimization problem strongly related to optimal transport) in the framework of RCD spaces. Given the cutting-edge nature of the topic, since then I pursued two main research lines:
investigation of analytic, geometric and probabilistic aspects of the Schrödinger problem, (both in smooth and non-smooth settings) as well as of the Entropic Optimal Transport problem;
study of various notions of curvature lower bounds in metric measure spaces (in particular RCD condition), their analytic and geometric properties and interpretation in terms of optimal transport.
I am also interested in:
- Functional inequalities, Markov semigroups
- Calculus of Variations, PDEs and Gradient Flows
- Stochastic Analysis, Large Deviations
- History of Mathematics
