Seminar description:
This seminar forms a continuation of the course Selected Topics in tt-Geometry, held in the Summer Semester 2026, but participation in the latter course is not a prerequisite. The seminar is divided into two parts.
In Part I, we recall the basic language of tensor triangular geometry, including the Balmer spectrum and stratification. We then study in detail one important example and classical highlight of tt-geometry, namely the tt-geometric classification of representations of finite groups in the modular characteristic case due to Benson--Iyengar--Krause. We will also discuss the main ideas underlying the proof and some of its consequences.
Part II is more flexible, directed at recent developments in the subject, and will be shaped by the interests of the participants. We propose a selection of advanced topics spanning 2--4 talks each, while leaving the precise program to be determined later.

We will have individual preparatory meeting one week before the talk. We will have the preparatory meeting every Friday at 12.30 at MPIM.
