Luca Onorante is Head of the Forecasting group at the Joint Research Centre (European Commission), and acts as co-leader of the SETI (Socio-economic & territorial impact) portfolio of projects. Until 2019, he worked as Senior Economist at the European Central Bank. From 2013 to 2016 he worked as Deputy Head of Research, Head of the Macro Modelling Project and subsequently as Head of the Monetary Policy Division at the Central Bank of Ireland. In 2015 and 2016 he was a member of the EUROSYSTEM/ESCB Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). He was an Economist at the European Central Bank from 2003 to 2013. Prior to this, he was a Research Assistant at the European University Institute and consultant at UNCTAD. He has taught Macroeconomics at the University of Bolzano and Advanced Macro (master level) at Trinity College in Dublin.
He holds a PhD from the European University Institute.
