I study algebraic geometry, in particular moduli spaces of curves, combinatorial methods (tropical/logarithmic geometry), and enumerative geometry (Gromov-Witten theory).
Currently, I am a ricercatore (RTDB, tenure-track assistant professor) at the University of Bologna.
Previously, I was a postdoc at HU Berlin (funded by the ERC grant SYZYGY of Gavril Farkas), in Frankfurt (where I substituted the Chair of Algebra and Number Theory, funded by GAUS), in Heidelberg (where I was part of the physical mathematics group of Johannes Walcher, funded by STRUCTURES), and at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in Bonn (where my mentor was Georg Oberdieck). I earned my Ph.D. at Imperial College London and the London School of Geometry and Number Theory in October 2018 (supervised by Cristina Manolache), after completing my undergraduate studies in Pisa (advisors: Angelo Vistoli and Andrea Maffei).
