Elementary Differential Equations and Boundary Value Problems (10th Edition, Wiley) by William Boyce and Richard DiPrima. ISBN: 0470458313.
Homework
Homework will be assigned each Monday at the beginning of lecture and due the following Monday at the beginning of lecture. You must prepare your homework assignments on your own (but you are encouraged to work on similar problems with others). There will be no credit for copied or (unexcused) late homework. Valid excuses for late homework include illness or family emergency. Your homework should be stapled and include TA section number.
HW#1 due 02/01: 2.1: 14, 18, 30, 40; 2.2: 2, 6, 22, 30(a)-(e). Content of 2.1-2.2.
HW#2 due 02/08: 2.3: 4, 8, 22(a)(b); 2.4: 32; 2.5: 3, 4, 18, 28. Content of 2.3-2.5.
HW#3 due 02/15: 2.6: 14, 22; 3.1: 14, 24, 26; 3.2: 24, 32; 3.3: 8, 22, 36.
HW#4 due 02/22: 3.4: 12, 18, 28, 34; 3.5: 10, 20, 30, 36.

Exams
Make-up exams will be scheduled only with the instructor's (not with the TA's) consent, and only in case of illness, academic conflicts, or family emergency. Exams are close-book. No calculators or other electronic devices will be allowed during exams. Please bring your photo ID to exams.
Midterm Exam 1: Wednesday, March 2, in class (covering Chapter 2: 2.1-2.6; Chapter 3).
Midterm Exam 2: Wednesday, April 6, in class.
Final Exam: Wednesday, May 11, 2:45 PM-4:45 PM.
Grades
Based 20% on the graded part of the homework, 20% each on each of the two midterm exams, and 40% on the final exam.
Syllabus
We will cover most materials of Chapters 2-3, 5-7, 9, and small parts of Chapters 10-11 (if time permitted).
