Homework
Homework will be assigned each Wednesday at the beginning of lecture and due the following Wednesday at the beginning of lecture to a TA in the back of the lecture hall. You must prepare your homework assignments on your own (but you are encouraged to work on similar problems with others). There will be no credit for copied or (unexcused) late homework. Valid excuses for late homework include illness or family emergency. Your homework should be stapled and include your TA's name and TA section number.

Exams
Make-up exams will be scheduled only with the instructor's (not with the TA's) consent, and only in case of illness, academic conflicts, or family emergency. Exams are close-book. No calculators or other electronic devices will be allowed during exams. Please bring your photo ID to exams.
Midterm Exam 1: Monday, February 29, 5:30 PM-6:30 PM, in Chamberlin 2103 (covering chapter 1, sections 2.1-2.4, 2.6, 3.1 and 3.2 plus any relevant appendices from the textbook).
Midterm Exam 2: Monday, April 4, 5:30 PM-6:30 PM, in Chamberlin 2103.
Final Exam: Wednesday, May 11, 7:45 AM-9:45 AM.
Grades
Based 20% on the graded part of the homework, 20% each on each of the two midterm exams, and 40% on the final exam.
Syllabus
We will cover most of chapters 1-6 and small parts of chapters 7-11 of our textbook.
