Lancashire Traction Engine Club
The Lancashire Traction Engine Club, which was founded in 1965, is now constituted as a 'Not For Profit' company limited by guarantee and registered as a charity. The objects of the club include advancing the education of the public by increasing and maintaining interest in historic steam and other mechanically propelled vehicles, other historic machinery and historic crafts and craftsmanship.
We welcome everyone with an interest in machinery preservation.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO OWN A STEAM ENGINE TO JOIN OUR CLUB.
We usually have two meetings a year plus other occasional social events. The AGM is always the first weekend of March and the pre-christmas get together with quiz is late November or early December. The venue varies but it is always somewhere with some historical interest.
We have recently become active again in organising Steam Events in the area. We run the Lancashire Steam Heritage Festival jointly with the Lancashire Mining Museum in May each year plus we have organised steam road runs and got involved in other historical events. Please explore the site further for more information.
