This Ranking structure shall be followed, failure to do so will result in having disciplinary action appropriately. All officers are expected to follow the Chain of Command.

Active- Officers are considered Active by default, the requirements are as follows
Patrol at least 5 hours total a week
You are given a grace period of 7 days of complete inactivity before being moved down to inactive.
Inactive - Officers are considered inactive after failing to adhere to the guidelines set in Active, after their grace period expires. This will also forfet special PD events such as Raids and other high interest events.
Once Officers are marked inactive, they will have 14 additional days to regain meeting the requirements listed in Active or forfit any Subdivision Certifications.
7 days after your certifications are revoked, you will be Terminated from the LSPD with the chance to reapply. (in total 1 month)
LOA - An officer can request a leave of absence if they are not going to be present for more than 7 days. This is to give notice, so you aren't put on the inactive list, and punished as follows. LOAs can be any amount of time, from a week, to up to 6 months or more depending on the reason given. LOA's for more than 1 month will need to be done through a verbal meeting with a member of command.

Chain of Command
The Chain of Command begins at the rank of Corporal within the respective officers squad, up to the Chief.
The Chain of Command is a system of individuals and small groups of individuals within the department to help you with any problems and answer your questions.
Failure to comply with the Chain of Command may result in disciplinary action.
Each squad will have a Corporal and a Sergeant within their squad who will act as the first layer of support within the chain of command. If the officer feels that he has not been properly helped then they may then move to the next position in the chain of command until they feel they are properly assisted.
Promotions will be given to officers who the command feels set themselves apart from other officers in terms of professionalism, maturity, job knowledge, and the strive to want to better the department as a whole.
Every rank in the LSPD will come with its own set of important responsibilities that each officer will be expected to conduct.
Do not ask for promotions. Asking for promotions may lead to a demotion or disciplinary actions.
Some actions are not on the chart, and your supervisor will find a punishment they deem fit for the infraction. This punishment may be overturned by Department Command or by Internal Affairs.
Demotions and Disciplinary Action
Please Refer to the chart to see an example of infractions and their respective punishments. However, command has the right to escalate and deescalate the punishments given at their descension.
PROCESS FOR APPEAL
In the event that an officer wishes to appeal, there are steps that will be taken in order to allow a fair trial to ensue. The appeal process can be entered only ONCE per disciplinary action received. The steps are as follows:
The disciplined officer and the issuing supervisor will meet in the office of the Chief of Police and the head of the Officers division.
FIRST, the supervisor will make his accusations known. The supervisor will describe the actions that led to his decision to issue the disciplinary action.
THEN, the disciplined officer will share his side of what happened. Remember, it is the disciplined officer’s duty to provide SOLID proof. Witnesses are NOT considered solid proof.
After both parties have finished, the Chief, the Deputy Chief, the captain. and the department head will discuss the appropriate verdict and will decide the outcome of the situation.
REMEMBER, once the appeal process is initiated, NO party is allowed to discuss the appeal, the situation surrounding it, or the verdict with anyone unless they are a Sergeant or higher in the LSPD and do not have direct ties to the situation at hand.
Training and Certification
Officers will have the ability to train and gain Certifications for specific privileges, and departments within the department. More info coming soon.
PATROL OFFICER
Patrol Officers will be charged with the day to day operations of the Department by responding to calls for emergency service and enforcing traffic regulations of the city.
HEAT UNIT
HEAT Will be a special driving section who are authorized to utilize vehicles that are faster than the average patrol vehicle. They will mainly be utilized for high speed pursuits that normal PD vehicles would not be able to keep up with.
METRO / SWAT
Metro is our Fast Acting Team of on call SWAT. They patrol as normal, however take any violent priority calls. They act as a fast acting SWAT force when it in unavailable to activate the full SWAT team.
SWAT will be a team assembled around the basics of hand to hand combat and weapons tactics. SWAT will be utilized in the situation where heavy weaponry is needed, barricaded suspects, or active shooter situations.
CRIMINAL INTELLIGENCE DIVISION (CID)
CID will focus on the criminal investigations of crimes, such as murders, robberies, and hideouts for criminals. CID will work hand in hand with GIU.
AIR SUPERIORITY UNIT (ASU)
ASU will be trained to fly the LSPD helicopter. ASU will be trained in pursuit tactics and maneuverability of the heli within the city.
FIELD TRAINING OFFICER (FTO)
FTO’s will be charged with the completion of all training for cadets, and will also lead department training when needed.
