A Note from the Artistic Director:
Hello Again, Theatre Lovers - Welcome Back! We are excited to be opening our 2024-2025 Theatre Season "A Touch of Mystery" with the 2004 Broadway hit Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
You might remember a movie of the same title way back in 1988 starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin. Our DIRTY ROTTEN musical tonight is a direct adaptation by the brilliant David Yazbek (The Full Monty, The Bands Visit) of that Frank Oz film. The 1988 film actually comes from an earlier screwball comedy called Bedtime Story starring David Niven and Marlon Brando. Quite the legacy for a fun little show about some serious DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS.
It was a blast putting this show together. Early production meetings with Meredith, our designer, told me that this DIRTY ROTTEN set was going to be something special. Auditions were full of talented folks & this cast is something else - they bring all their passion and joy to each rehearsal. Long hours of rehearsals and dance calls demonstrated their commitment. Performances show just how much fun this DIRTY ROTTEN cast is having.
Thank you for attending shows & supporting Live Theatre. Please remember that every penny of your DIRTY ROTTEN ticket price goes right back into the Theatre Scholarship Fund here on campus. This semester we awarded $3,000 DIRTY ROTTEN dollars to students. We've awarded $54,750 in scholarships since 2012 because YOU attend our shows!
Now...sit back and have a DIRTY ROTTEN time!
Eric C. Skiles, Director
