Planet Formation at CSUN

Welcome to Luca Ricci's webpage!

"There are those who seek knowledge for the sake of knowledge; that is curiosity. There are those who seek knowledge to be known by others; that is vanity. There are those who seek knowledge in order to serve; that is Love." (St Bernard of Clairvaux)

I am an Astrophysicist interested in the whole Universe (of course!), focusing in particular on how stars and planets come to be. I spend most of my time analyzing data from world-class telescopes which allow us to take close-ups of protoplanetary disks, peering into the dust and gas that forms new worlds.

Since 2018 I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at California State University Northridge (CSUN).

Before CSUN, I held researcher positions at CalTech, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Rice University, and I taught courses on Astrophysics at Harvard and CSULA.
