Nicholas Belardes’s debut eco-horror The Deading combines elements of literary, horror, and science fiction. While attending UCR Palm Desert’s MFA Program, Belardes received its Founder’s Award. When not writing, he’s either birdwatching or teaching essay writing at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Ethnic Studies Program.

Monika Kim
Monika is a second-generation Korean American living in Los Angeles’s Koreatown. She learned about eating fish eyes and other Korean superstitions from her mother, who immigrated to California from Seoul in 1985. THE EYES ARE THE BEST PART is her debut novel.

Kathryn E. McGee
Kathryn E. McGee’s horror stories have appeared in Kelp Journal, Lit Angels, Ladies of the Fright, Gamut, and the Bram Stoker Award-nominated Chromophobia anthology. She writes about horror books and film for The Lineup and is an active member of the Horror Writers Association. She manages the MFA Program in Creative Writing at UC Riverside Palm Desert.
