I've taken notice that the Groups of Interest section of the Site Database has redactions made as to maintain secrecy, among other sections of course, but as it is being told in the official Foundation narrative, I figure that I might as well take a crack at telling things how they really are. Starting off, I will be talking about the SCP Foundation itself and then moving onto the other groups at play in or around Site-Aurora.
The SCP Foundation is both a group that does things right and a group that does things terribly wrong. I will not deny that is does a service to the world in locating and containing the multitude of anomalous threats, nor will I deny that I am thankful that even when they mess up or fail they will fix things thanks to whatever they can come up with to make it so. What is both a blessing and a curse is that they are held accountable to no one but themselves, allowing for great autonomy away from the hands of politics and allowing what must be done, ignoring of course that they still engage and thus are riddled with it like the GOC but still with less politics and no oversight despite having major connections to all first world governments. What really makes them stand out in my eyes and what truly separates them from the rest is their greater understanding of anomalies due to their constant, hardly restricted research and testing as opposed to being the military arm of the world like the GOC is and simply remaining as its research and security arm. At the end of the day however I despise them, perhaps due to their criminal actions and unaccountability, which granted are what one can expect from even governments, but I still find them abhorrent. One can argue that they are "just making tough choices," that "the world is morally grey," and "the world and life is just unfair," but to them I say, SCREW YOU. That is no excuse to simply support or condone them just because there are worse things out there.
Everything said about the Serpents Hand on the official Groups of Interest section is quite true, they are indeed a reckless bunch who don't seem to understand the gravity of the situation they are trying to create, granted I don't doubt The Serpent that they are named after and worship has a sliver of responsibility for that. I as a matter of fact am disgusted by them and both their selfishness and ignorance which they either don't see or claim to be some sort of enlightened thinking. But the Foundation seems to not be interested in covering just how big of a threat this group is other than depicting them as organized and foolish rabble. They are the ones in control of and are based out of the Wanderer's Library for pete's sake, they have a near infinite pool of knowledge in the palm of their hand even if they aren't the Librarians. This, combined with their clear organization and usage and inclusion of anomalies, makes them more than just a threat to be dismissed, not to mention that even if they were dismissible their allies such as the Black Queen are still something to be mindful of. Their raids on Site Aurora where this Database is based out of are themselves worthy of being told more about, but as I don't really know much about those I can only tell whoever is reading this to not just dismiss their potential like the official telling does for the sake of ensuring calm or not worrying about them, which is fine, but still not a good idea in the end.
The Global Occult Coalition is the United Nation's response to Parathreats, the paranormal, anomalous and or unnatural occurrences in our reality whether they be entities or objects. Perhaps out of misunderstanding, or more likely out of propaganda, those in The Foundation and other groups like the Serpents Hand view them as reckless for their frequent successful neutralizations of anomalous entities and objects. Using the ones mentioned before as examples, the Serpents Hand, while willing to work with The Foundation to counter greater threats hostile to all life, utterly despise the GOC and would soon rather parish than risk working with the group which once managed to ransack their base of operations in the Wanderer's Library and which seeks to annihilate the entities they are attached to. The Foundation however, while viewing each other as rival groups, views it as a necessary partner which is likewise a view shared by the GOC, granted if push comes to shove conflict will break out as has been the case in the past on various occasions. As it is made up of a collection of 108 different groups it also acts as their representatives, from groups that are state backed to cults and even companies it is good to know they are under the GOC than being allowed to operate alone, and at least the American Unusual Incidents Unit is drastically underfunded because of their existence when ignoring it is also due to The Foundation's Influence. The GOC itself is at least held somewhat accountable, granted organizations with major power never are nor will be unless their leaders are truly just, moral or whatever, and while they work for the mess and den of corruption, destruction and fanfare that is the United Nations it is good to know that there is at least one truly official global body dedicated to this sort of stuff.
The Chaos Insurgency is and until I ever speak to someone from it always will be an enigma to me. Information about it is strictly confidential to the point where my benefactor will not give me anything major other than a tidbit here and a tidbit there. What I do know is that the Insurgency, like a Latin American cartel, operate in cells as to avoid outright destruction by The Foundation which seems to be its mortal enemy and that it is also apparently headed by a group known as Delta Command and a man known as The Engineer. It must be noted however that others, including the Intelligence Agency according to my benefactor, report it has a similar or even the same command structure as The Foundation. The group itself is not able to act openly out of fear of being crushed by the much more powerful SCP Foundation so has resorted to striking when and wherever The Foundation is weakest as to acquire SCPs, some which they use as weapons, and others which they simply contain in their own facilities in the various third world countries that they either keep unstable as to avoid hostile groups from arriving, to allow themselves to make money from both sides of the conflict through mercenaries and selling arms, and or to keep out either UN-Aligned or Foundation-Aligned leaders while propping up stable dictators who work for them. They apparently engage with groups such as Marshall, Carter & Dark, Ltd. which buy and sell anomalous objects and entities for profit. As for how they recruit they seem to recruit directly from The Foundation, having various sleeper agents and defectors being made with said people either being anarchist or tried of The Foundation's actions, leaving me to wonder how they can recruit such a large pool of people time and time again.
