I have been using the Tennessee card to fish bodies of water like Kentucky Lake, Lake Barkley and Dale Hollow Reservoir. I have been pretty blown away about some of the spots that are detailed on this card that did not show up accurately on other maps. And how much the custom shading options have helped me rethink both my shallow and deep fishing for bass, crappie, bluegill and more on the lakes I fish.

When I looked at it on my old map, the waypoints seemed random. But when I loaded the C-MAP card in the first time, I was amazed to see how my waypoints laid perfectly on the deep edge of the point and the flat off the side of the point unmarked on other maps.

Select from 16 colors to highlight as many as 10 customized depth ranges on both Social Map charts and private Genesis Edge maps. You can set two separate custom-color depth palettes for every map and easily highlight the fish-holding areas. Humps and holes, reefs and shoals, drains and ditches, ledges and breaklines will all be much more visible when set apart with custom-color depth shading.

C-MAP Genesis not only creates maps with 1-foot contours and a bottom-hardness layer for your favorite waterbodies, it literally records your dynamic 200hz sonar screen, creating, essentially, a trip viewer of every fish, bait ball, rock, hump or hard spot you drove over. This gives you a second chance to waypoint fish or structure after the fact, back at home, if you missed them while on the water. You can then export those "2nd chance waypoints" back to your compatible Lowrance, Simrad or B&G sonar/GPS unit and then pilot your boat directly to the areas they mark and get on a bite.

Recently I just bought a new HOOK Reveal for my first boat and I have no idea how to install maps onto the thing. I bought it with GPS only because it was significantly cheaper than other models. Help would be greatly appreciated.

These maps give you all the features found in the MapCreate USA Topo mapping software including topographic lines* and elevations, but without the necessity of using a computer. Perfect for the hunter, hiker, or camper, these maps have all the information you will need. Simply insert the memory card into your Lowrance GPS unit, and you're ready to go.

I bought a used 2018 xp4 turbo with a Lowrance 7ti. I bought the PCI Western US chip. $79. I recommend it. I just put it in and turned it on. It loaded, and so far has had accurate maps of wherever I've gone.

Create detailed bathymetric, aquatic, and coastal habitat maps automatically by recording sonar from low-cost, yet powerful Lowrance or Simrad sonar devices. See what sonar devices are compatible with BioBase and how to buy.

EcoSound automates the processing of sonar files with sophisticated automated algorithms based on cloud servers. Sonar files are processed automatically upon upload, and high-quality maps and spatial datasets are delivered to your secure online BioBase account within minutes and available for downloading and sharing with partners, stakeholders or customers.

All interactive maps, processed data, and data reports are backed up and archived in an easy to browse dashboard. Data reports are created automatically, are available for sharing and for exporting to a third-party GIS or statistical software.

NOTE: For lower-end units (like the Hook 5 displayed), it is normal for the screen to freeze when loading the maps. It is part of the required steps to install Standard Mapping E-Card in Lowrance GPS.

The latest Lakemaster maps have 1' contours for LV. I can't imaging there is a better combination than Lakemaster mapping, Humminbird electronics, and Minnkota trolling motors with I-pilot link all linked by ethernet. It's a totally integrated system and all pieces are designed to work together. Add to that Contour Elite, which allows you to study the maps on your computer and share information back and forth from your computer and your Humminbird unit. Sorry to hijack the thread with Humminbird stuff as I know the OP asked about Lowrance. Not sure how Lakemaster works with Lowrance.

In 2004 Johnson Control started buying Lakemaster, Humminbird & Minkota - made everything porparithy to only work on Johnson Control products. Lowrance than teamed with Motor Guide and Navionics making a compatible fishing system to Johnson Control. Navionics also made there 1' contour maps available on the web with the Boating App where Contour Elete is on a windows computer limited software. (Computers do not have GPS chips.) Lowrance also created there C-Map to work on there product line.

My son has a Humminbird set up on his boat running Follow the Contour. I ran test on contour and sonar depth accuracy following a 19 ft. contour. Both Navionics and Lakemaster were not 100% accurate both at times varied between 11 ft. and 26 ft. about 5% of time. Most of the route was spot on most of the time. The lake was Ottertail with fantastic structure variation. My opinion, both maps are equal in quality. Navionics offers a greater comparable equipment use.

I am trying to connect a Lowrance Elite TI2 to my boat project to gather bathometric information. I currently just log all the sonar data to a SD card and then use ReefMaster to create maps. I wanted to be able to get real time depth using NMEA 0183. I have the Lowrance NMEA 0183 connector and can get data on my computer through HyperTerminal (using a serial connector Rx and Gnd going to the Tx and Gnd on the Lowrance cable). With the boat sitting in a filled water trough, the data looks like: $SDDBT,1.5,f,0.4,M,0.2,F*04

Hi @Holly918,

since. I am working on a school project right now, it depends if our sponsor gives us enough money to buy the lowrance elite ti2 or if we have to use only a normal sonar (no sidescan). I agree on your point with the cone, but I think using chirp it can be quite accurate nevertheless.

So there are two options:

One of the keys to being successful when fishing walleye is finding structure that fish are relating to. It has been more than a decade since SD cards preloaded with lake maps were put on the market. They quickly proved to be a valuable tool in locating breaks, points and humps. These electronic maps also allowed anglers to see their current position on their GPS in relation to the contours of the lake.

Now lake mapping has evolved to a whole new level with Lowrance electronics and their mapping program plus online service and web viewer called Insight Genesis. With Insight Genesis I am able to expand upon off-the-shelf maps by making custom maps for the areas I fish. If you're thinking about purchasing a Lowrance unit with this capability, look for the Gen3 Insight USA Fishfinder/Chartplotters. Bass Pro Shops has several top rated units.

Creating custom maps using a Lowrance Gen 3 Insight USA unit is a simple process. I begin by inserting an SD card into my unit. With a few clicks on the screen, it begins recording the bottom of the lake. I then drive my boat in a grid-like pattern over the portion of the lake I would like to record, keeping the speed at no more than 4-5mph.

Not only will these customized maps allow you to follow edges while contour trolling, or put you right on a hump for jigging, they can also show you where to find weeds by placing a green overlay on the map.

The custom maps can also kick your ice fishing up a notch! During the summer and fall I will map out areas that I like to target in the winter. As soon as there is safe ice, I will mount my Lowrance to an ATV or snowmobile. I am then able to drive straight to the spots I mapped out earlier in the year.

Secondly, I turned on Hi resolution Bathy data which had 10x more contour mapping than the default maps. This was also very useful when fishing in areas with changing depths and terrains. Whilst fishing on my boat I was really able to hone in on dramatic contour changes, channels, run-offs and drop-offs, and changes to the terrain which was really helpful when finding great grounds to target gummy sharks and whiting.

You're on vacation, and, after a brief walk about town, you realize you can't find your way back to the hotel. Relax. You're not going to be lost for long.
