GETTING STARTED
Log a price. Tap Log a price, enter the item, what it cost, the package size and the store. That is it. After three prices for an item, Lowmark can start telling you whether a price is good.

YOUR LOW MARK
Your low mark is the level a genuinely good sale reaches for you. Lowmark works it out from the prices you have logged over the past year, using the cheap end of that range rather than the single lowest price you ever saw a freak one-off should not become a target you can never hit again.
At or under your low mark: stock up. Between the low mark and your typical price: a good price. Above your typical: wait if you can.
Lowmark will not give a verdict until it has at least three prices for an item. "Not enough history yet" is more honest than a confident guess.
UNIT PRICES
Lowmark converts every package to a common basis so sizes can be compared: ounces, pounds, grams and kilograms for weight; fluid ounces, liters, cups, pints, quarts and gallons for volume; and plain counts. An 18 oz jar at $2.00 is cheaper per ounce than a 16 oz jar at $1.80 that is the kind of thing it is for.
Use Compare sizes (the scales icon on the price book, or in Settings) to put up to four packages side by side.
COUPONS, BOGO AND MULTI-BUYS
Add a deal when logging a price and Lowmark works out the real cost per unit. Buy-one-get-one on a $5.99 item is $3.00 a unit. Three for $5 is $1.67 each. It then checks that figure against your own history a headline offer that is still above your usual price will be marked Wait.
Lowmark also shows how many units a deal forces you to buy. On something perishable, buying two to save on one is not a saving.
Whether a deal actually applies, and whether two deals can be combined, is decided by the store at the till. Lowmark does the arithmetic; it does not set the rules.
WHY LOWMARK DOES NOT DOWNLOAD DEALS
It only knows prices you enter. That is deliberate. Apps that pull in store flyers show prices that are a week stale, sometimes wrong, and often for a shop you would have to drive an hour to reach. Your own records cannot be out of date without you knowing.
SHOPPING TRIPS
Start a trip from the Shop tab, then add items as they go in the cart. You get a running total before the till, each item is checked against your book as you add it, and every entry is saved to your price book automatically so the book stays current without a separate chore.
SAVINGS
Two figures, kept apart on purpose. "Off at the till" is money that came off through coupons and deals a fact. "Versus your usual" compares what you paid with the median you have paid before an estimate from your own history, labelled as one. View by day, week, month, year or all time.
OFFERS
Keep the coupons and deals you actually have in the Offers tab, with expiry dates so they do not die forgotten in a drawer.
YOUR DATA

Deleting the app deletes your data. Use Back up now in Settings before changing phones, and export your price book or savings as CSV any time. Export is free and always will be.
TROUBLESHOOTING
A verdict looks wrong. Check the history on that item for a mistyped price or a wrong package size one bad entry moves the average. Swipe any row in History to delete it and the numbers correct themselves immediately.
My store is missing. Tap + Store when logging a price, type the name and press return. There is no limit on how many stores you can track.
Prices are compared oddly. Check the unit. Weight and volume cannot be compared with each other, and a 6-pack should be entered as its total contents.
DISCLAIMER
Lowmark is a record-keeping tool. Every figure it shows is built from prices you entered, on the dates you entered them. Prices go stale always check the shelf. Verdicts and sale-cycle estimates are guidance, not financial advice.
