I love using transition poses that make it easy for my subjects to move from one pose to the next. If you move subjects from sitting to standing and back to sitting, this sequence will feel unnatural.

A simple flow that I love to use is this. Have the couple face each other and capture a few shots. Then have them dance together. After the dance, have one hug the other from behind. You may even be able to get them to dance themselves into that hugging connection! This simple flow feels easy and fun for the couple and I am easily able to get several shots with minimal effort.

No matter what your level of expertise is with connections, making your sessions fun, lighthearted, and easy will allow you to capture the most genuine emotions. And that is exactly what any couple would want to see in their photos.

I love green chard. I have different recipes for the chard leaves and stems. One of them is stuffed chard leaves. Sauted chard leaves with meat. Green lentil soup with chard. Baked chard pies, and much more.

I just froze some to have for summer months when they are not in season.

1- This same recipe, but before, saut ground beef with minced onions, continue to saut the stems with garlic then add the chard leaves. Serve with rice.

2- Add it to green lentil soup.

3- Stuffed Swiss Chard Leaves in Oil (vegetarian). See the recipe in my album.

4- Add it to eggs. Fold it into a simple scramble.

5- Baked chard pies.

I got married in 2008 and I have a lot of pictures that were taken by friends that I never used. When I saw the Happily Ever After collection, I was sure it was perfect for making a new wedding album for me, now using the photos taken by the people I love, of the happiest moment of my life.

i baked the cake last night, wrapped it and tossed it in the freezer to finish off (icing, eating) for a dinner party saturday night. i loved that it was created with pantry/fridge ingredients and came together very quickly (under 15 minutes). thanks for the recipe and inspiration!

Made this lovely cake and divine icing with my daughter Saturday, and then promptly ordered the book. The cake was even better on day 2. We made 2 round 8 -inch cakes, with the icing perfect for 1. I froze the other cake and am looking forward to trying another frosting recipe from the book to top it.

Every family I photograph teaches me something. Through the lens of my camera I learn big lessons of love and parenting. I am very thankful to each and every family for sharing and trusting me to document their time together.

Today I want to share with you very special pictures filled with joy, big smiles, messy hair and sandy toes. I love these pictures, because they are about childhood, about laughing, playing and being carefree with your children. I am proud to be the one to photograph these moments for this amazing family.

Florals: You can find so many different kinds of florals that look amazing in photos! Smaller, spaced out floral patterns look awesome, and so do larger florals. I also really love a simple floral pattern where the background is one color, and the flowers are another (like the orange floral pattern in the collage below). You can even find floral patterns that are busy but still look great!

The project features volunteers who are photographed as a show of support for the acceptance of all people. Photographs will be taken from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. outside of Wallwork Hall, at Pratt and Grant streets. The photos will then be displayed in a gallery on campus later this semester and will be featured on social networking sites. The opportunity to be photographed is open to all.

Ever since Im shooting photos I am fascinated by portraiture. There is something special to photograph a person. Its always a very intimate moment and you have to build a relationship to each person that is in front of the camera. After shooting 35mm for a while I wanted to try something new. Inspired by Nick Brandt and his wildlife portraits in "Across the Ravaged Land", I found out that he uses a Pentax 67 including a 105 2.4 lens for his absolutely outstanding work. Long story short: I got myself one in 2014 and was hooked instantly. Its like the big brother of a regular SLR 35mm camera. I never really liked the waist lever finder of certain medium format cameras, so the Pentax was a perfect fit with its prism finder. Shooting people with this camera is pretty unique. Its loud, big, beautiful and you only have 10 shots per film, so you definitely have the attention of your sitter. Besides my regular job as a commercial photographer, I always shoot portraits of actors, musicians or just friends in my free time. Over the years I collected a fairly amount of headshots shot on film from many different people.

In most cases the camera is loaded with ILFORD HP5+. I love the tones of this film and compared to the 35mm version it has a subtle softness that I really love. I tried to emulate the look with my digital camera a lot. However, its never the same and thats exactly what I love about it. The way HP5+ renders skin tones is special and thats why I keep using it.

When you hit focus wide open at 2.4, the 105mm lens creates a really beautiful look, which is hard to describe. I start with simple "look straight into the camera", poses and after a while I try to work on different ideas together with the sitter. My main goal is to make the person trust me and that he or she is comfortable in front of my camera.

99% of the time I use natural light. I am a big fan of window light or clouded weather while shooting outside (at least for black and white photos). I dont like to use artificial light. This is because it slows my process down and most of the time Im not satisfied with the look. 006ab0faaa
