About Us

Lounge Monkey is a 5 piece experimental rock band based near Salt Lake City, Utah. The group shifted focus from easy to swallow indie to innovative rock/phsyc grunge in the past couple of years by combining their original style with small parts of bands like Sonic Youth, Radiohead, and Unwound. Since their notable release of Post 1999 Aliens in 2024, the band continues striving to push their limits toward creating art that sets them apart from other local bands. 

Though they’ve had setbacks due to several line up changes within the band… the group responded by releasing "Fields of Indigo", an adventurous psychedelic grunge piece that truly proves Lounge Monkey is a group force that is only moving forward. 

Lounge Monkey’s new debut album: An Ode to Self Sabotage is a roaring, spacey, and catchy set of songs. While most of the album feels grunge-esque, even psychedelic at points, it’s “Strange Things Are Happening” plus the last 3 tracks that give it’s story a cinematic end.
