Volume EM has revolutionized our understanding of cells and pathologies by combining resolution with context. However, poor staining can cause more than morphological or charging artifacts; it can also dramatically slow image acquisition.
In conjunction with the University of Louisville, Thermo Fisher Scientific will host an in-person, hands-on sample preparation workshop for volume EM. Over three days, participants will complete a basic OTO-type preparation and discuss modifications for targeted stains, immunolabeling, and CLEM.
The third day will also include sessions on image optimization in the SEM/FIB, as well as tips for improving segmentation with machine learning in Amira.
