My name is Louis Cundari III, 17 years old and attending P-TECH Norwalk within Norwalk High School. I am currently dual enrolled in Norwalk High School and Norwalk Community College and am an aspiring Software Engineer.
Being a student eager to learn about new technology and especially Tesla the past few years, I decided to base my English 101 semester on researching the company of Tesla and their technology.
Tesla's Autopilot Safety
Tesla's Automobiles Will Create a Cleaner Future
Allow Tesla to Sell Direct
After writing these pieces in 2018, Tesla has sold over 880,000 cars and will continue to sell more as the company starts to rollout their Model Y this year (2020) and the unveiled Cybertruck in 2021. From a research standpoint, Tesla has collected massive amounts of data from their Autopilot software, allowing their machine learning algorithm to identify and deal with situations with more confidence. This has also allowed Tesla to release and enhance features such as Smart Summon, in-city street-light and stop sign recognition, and can now drive on-off highway ramps. Though, Autopilot is still considered a 2/5 on the Autonomy scale, it has improved significantly since 2018 and dominates the autonomous driving industry with their enormous neural system of cars on the road which will soon hit 1 million.
On a legal note, Tesla is still unable to sell their cars in Connecticut due to dealership protection laws, even after attempts in 2019 to gain the legislation to sell their cars in CT. Thus, CT will continue to lose sales tax on Teslas.
