I am having a good time with Arch Linux until recently, it sometimes gives out loud beep sounds.

For example, when I try to move to the end of the line using right arrow, it will continuously give out loud beep sounds. It seems like my laptop is giving me a warning.

The same thing happened when I click on 'Log out' button in Xfce.

I tried to mute the sound, but it did not work.

I do not know when it will give out this loud beep sound. It is very embarrassing when my laptop do this in public.

Can anyone help plz

Have you solved it? I disable it in system setting and it does work. But recently I find when I in "save file" window, for instance, when using Typora edit a new file and press Ctrl+S to save it, in the save window I press Backspace to back to the last directory, but all it gives to me is an annoying beep sound. If there any ways to disable it completely?

Hi I have had my Rift S for about 5 months now. Recently it has started to lose tracking 3dof and 6dof make a loud beep noise then black screen and give me an error in the Oculus software saying "No display port connection" and "Oculus software restart required" until I unplug then re plug the USB. This happens about every 5-15 minutes making my Rift S practically unusable. I have already made a support ticket witch lead pretty much nowhere Because I dont have another pc speced for vr to test it on. Please help. Edit : I bought a new cable and then 6 months after it broke again just get the quest 2 its so much better as detailed in the previous comment and you can replace the cable of that one for 10$ its a waste of money to spend 80$ every 6 months for a sub par headset

So I am listing to my music on shuffle and I am constantly getting a loud beep but its random when it happens. To note I am using lossless with a dac and powered speakers. It has also happened without the dac and nothing has been put to max volume. Personally i think its because of the sudden quality shift (like high to low or vice versa) as you know not everything is at the same quality. I just want too know if this is happening to other people and if there is a way to fix it. Thank you.

Does anyone know why my iphone (13 pro) beeps loudly (as though on speaker) after a phonecall? The beep is usually as loud as the phone conversation, but now my phone beeps loudly as though its on speaker and it can really hurt your ears if you keep the phone while the other person is hanging up. I don't see any setting option for this. Maybe an update is needed to correct this?

I was watching a video online, and suddenly my computer started playing a high frequency noise. The video did not pause, but the sound of the video was not audible at all. The sound stopped a while after closing the lid.

I just got the new quare terminal, which I love, but it makes an extremely loud beep when it finishes reading a card and is ready for a signature. This beep is extra loud in our very quiet acupuncture office and I would like to turn it down or off if necessary. I tried going into settings and turned down the volume under "Sounds" but that did not affect the volume of this notification at all. Is there some way to change how loud that is or to turn it off completely?

Has this functionality been added? The loud beep is very disruptive. We are a theatre that relies on our bar revenue, and as it is, we have to limit when we can sell drinks because this thing is so loud. How hard could it be to add an option to turn off the beep?!

I would like to add to this as a request to remedy the sound. We have had a number of clients comment on the sound, our spa is a tranquil place to visit and ending on the loud beep is not how we'd like our guests to remember us. Added to that, it can be heard in out treatment rooms.

I've gone ahead and merged your post into an existing thread of Sellers who were also looking for information regarding removing the payment confirmation sound. It looks like this is an ongoing Feature Request that you can track here.

I have my printer set up at a desk at work, and have finally gotten over the (short) clicks the speaker makes during menu selections, etc. But the beep during unload filament is so loud, I'm afraid that I'm disturbing my coworkers. Let alone trying to print a sample gcode for z adjust that has M300 soudns built in (I will be removing them from my file), I'm worried someone will think it's a fire alarm or something.

Ah, there's nothing like your filament sensor detecting a false runout and the annoying beeping of the printer at 3:30AM. It's happened to me twice and both times it woke me up in a panic thinking my printer was on fire or something.

I'm running firmware 3.7.2 on my mk3S, and I run in mute mode because others in my household are sleeping. But when I turn off the printer power at the switch, I still get a loud beep! Somehow that switch didn't get the mute memo! Is there any way to disable that beep, short of cutting the trace to the beeper, or crushing it with a pliers?

I've got a weird problem with my Samsung S8. It started making a loud beep every 30 seconds or so. I've seen it's a fairly common problem, but the proposed solutions don't work in my case for some reason:

Anyone else having this issue? During a phone call, it will make a random high to low pitch beep lasting a few seconds...but is incredibly loud. Enough to make my ear ring. Will give no warning, no message, just kind of fade the call and start the beeping going on. I've powered it on and off, Reset it, and took it to the local Verizon store, but they think its an Apple issue. Just curious if anyone else is having the same problem.

I have this same issue. Usually it's a high pitch beep/chirp-like sound, similar to the sound of a fax machine. I've experienced this one 2 different phone in several different states. The person on the other end doesn't appear to hear it but it is extremely annoying and hurts my ears especially when I have the volume turned up all the way. It's hard to diagnose because it's random. I've searched around and cannot find a root cause or fix for it.

I can only imagine how annoying it can be when you phone is beeping as such. It is truly odd to hear that this is happending. I agree with you can be hard to pin point the issue when it is random but that will not stop us. I see you stated that this happens on different devices, what are the different devices you have experienced this with? What are the different states you were in when this happened? Have you noticed when this happens if you are in area with a low service signal?

In many cli programs when I press a shortcut, that doesn't exists (in nano for example), also in Firefox when I search for a word that doesn't exist or when I shut the computer down (everything: hardware button, terminal, desktop environment) I hear a load beep.

My cameras have started to make loud beep as well, lucky enough to catch it at beginning of garage feed then camera goes mute. Hopefully Ring help desk can offer solution, must have been during last firmware update. Unfortunately this forum upload features does not accept .mp4 video file @Marley_Ring

I've got today a very annoying and continuous loud beep coming from the laptop, the kind of beep you guet when there is a system error, except this one look like it's coming directly from the motherboard, because it not shut down when i use the mute key on the keyboard. It only stop when i shut down the laptop.

If the device is booting into windows and then you get the beeping noises, while using the laptop, its could be due to the toggle keys, all we have to do, is turn it off, here's how:

1. Windows + X & then Settings, followed by Ease of Access icon.

2 Click/tap on Keyboard on the left side, and turn off

3 When finished, you can close Settings.

4 Restart the device and check if it works

The alert tone or beep or notification sound or whatever when you hit max volume or a text comes in or you press play on a song, is really REALLY LOUD AND UNNECESSARY. It is always the same ear-and-mood-shattering loudness, regardless of the volume for the speaker. It has to have a disable option. How do I turn it off?

Yes I cut the problem fan off today because it's probably gonna be dead soon, but the beeping sound has happen a couple days ago. And the problem fan has been having that problem for years ( it can't start spinning at low load, only spinning on high load)

The Gpu is clean, I've cleaned and re-apply the thermal paste a few weeks ago. I've tried disconnecting the gpu fan connector and it still beeps. The gpu temp is normal, around 40 at idle, could jump to 80-ist at full load.

So far so good. I did hear a long beep for about 2 seconds but it hasn't happened again. Msi afterburner does show the fan speed. Hope this will last util the Gpu price goes down, lol. Thanks again for your help

Actually I've been able to reproduce the issue again by running some stress test. The pgu starts beeping when the msi afterburner shows the temp around 68-70C degree / 155-158 F. But the beep stops after the temp went down to like 40C/104F degree. I'm not even sure if this show the correct temp as my ambient is already around 35C/95F degree, the AC is not on. e24fc04721
