I am Lorenzo, a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Economics at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna (Pisa). I am an environmental economist working on topics related to innovation and public economics. I am currently part of the FIND ERC project, which aims to ensure that negative emission technologies serve as enablers to long-term sustainable development.
I am particularly interested in the effect of policies on (green) innovation, understading what are the drivers of scientific output of researchers and inventors, and individuals' decision-making regarding public good provision. My ultimate goals are to better understand how to improve technological change and scientific progress, as well as how people make decisions relating to environmental protection.
In my work, I use empirical and experimental methods to study these (and other) questions, using laboratory and survey data as well as large-scale databases. As I have a background in life sciences, I also try to stay up-to-date in the developments in other fields and bring insights from their experts to my work.
