Pandemic was aided by Weta Digital in developing the game. They provided many of their digital models, including the fell beasts. Pandemic used elements that were cut from the films, and have taken inspiration from J. R. R. Tolkien's original fantasy series, such as a level based loosely around Balin's conquest of Moria, in which Gimli attempts to retake the dwarven city from the orcs. Some inspiration was less direct: the armies of Rohan and Gondor decide not to attack Minas Morgul in the novel, but a level in the game is based on what might possibly have happened if they had. The game uses Howard Shore's score to the films as its soundtrack. The Lord of the Rings: Conquest received mixed reviews, with criticism focusing on its combat, graphics, voice acting, balance issues, artificial intelligence, bugs, and multiplayer.

I bought lord of the Rings Conquest a few around december of 2010 or 2009. My computer at the time didn't have the propper specs to play it so I essentialy wasted quite a bit of money. However now that I have upgraded my desktop computer I believed I could now play this game. So I try opennig that old file and it asks me for the code. Problem is that I don't have the code, not only that I don't even remember if I bought it on this account (though i'm pretty sure I did). The game isn't showing up on my order history which has instilled the doubt of whether or not I've bought it on this account. So I decided to go through the help line but the wait is really long, so I decided to post this problem that I have while I wait. Should I just give up on this game? The only time I ever played it was at Gamestop, the demo version..... when it came out. Is it really worth all this trouble?

I have been looking everywhere for the lord of the rings conquest for pc (and battle for middle earth II: Wrath of the witch king but this is a different issue entirely) but cannot find it anywhere except on amazon for around sixty dollars. I'm sure this is a case of another ea game that I want that was released but never put on origin for download or sold in enough stores to be found for a reasonable price, but just to be sure. Is there anywhere I can buy (repeat buy I am trying to be a law abiding citizen here but apparently the EA website doesn't want my money) the lord of the rings conquest for a reasonable price (perferably from EA if I have to get it somewhere else I'll find it myself I just prefer to buy games from their manufacturers if I'm buying online).

Assassins that could make themselves invisible? No, not really. People that could hide very well? Yes. There is no "Shadow Dancer" a la Neverwinter Nights in the LOTR books. What you had were little hobbits that were hard to see in the first place, and could walk without making noise (that's a lot easier to do when you're three feet tall and have hair all over your feet ;) ). You also had "magical" (usually Elven) stuff that would blend in with nature. Also, you did have the rings of power, and they did cause the wearer to become invisible... or at least, the One Ring did. I'm not sure if any of the others actually did that or not.

IMO, for the most part, the books don't describe extremely powerful people, other than a few of the elves, Gandalf, and a few of the Nazgul... basically, people with rings of power (Galadriel, Gandalf, the ring-wraiths, and Elrond all have rings). Very skilled warriors (Aragorn, Boromir, Faramir, Legolas, Gimli), very knowledgeable people, and a lot of "good luck" tend to be what makes the events possible, not so much having lots of level 50 fighters =P

The online multiplayer features 4 modes: Conquest, Deathmatch, Hero Deathmatch and Capture the Ring. There are also split screen and online co-op modes available for the campaigns. The online portion allows for up to 16 players per multiplayer mode. The online modes are conquest, team deathmatch, hero deathmatch, and Capture the Ring, a take on capture the flag where both teams fight over the One Ring.

And 'talked about back at announcement' brings us to our main concern: we first heard about Conquest back in May, just seven months ago, and yet the game is ready for launch next month, and this is the first time anyone's been allowed to play it. Developer Pandemic has a decorated history, what with Battlefront and Mercenaries, so why not shout about Conquest?

Conquest Reimagined is not just going to be a remastered version of the original conquest, it is going to be a re-imaged (reforged) version of the game. New stuff will be added and some things will change to fit the up-to-date gaming industry. 006ab0faaa
