Eduardo López-Larraz

I work as a research scientist at Bitbrain (Spain). My work lies at the intersection between engineering and neuroscience, and aims at developing neuro-technologies that improve the quality of life of the people. During my career, I have focused on investigating machine learning, signal processing, and statistical methods applied to the field of neural engineering, with a special emphasis on neurorehabilitation for patients with motor disability.

Between 2015 and 2019 I was a postdoctoral researcher in the RamosLab, at the University of Tübingen (Germany). My research there focused on developing neural interfaces to understand and restore the neural mechanisms underlying motor paralysis in patients suffering stroke and spinal cord injury.

Before that, I completed my PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Zaragoza (Spain), under the supervision of Javier Minguez and Luis Montesano. The main objective of my PhD was to investigate and develop brain-machine interfaces (BMI) for motor rehabilitation and restoration to help patients with spinal cord injury.
