ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
This workshop aims to bring together international scientists in break-out groups to:
Synthesized and discuss on the current protocols, configurations and goals of long-term Antarctic & Greenland ice sheets simulations paleo and future;
Define what do long-term paleo & future ice sheet simulations need in terms of boundary conditions, climate & ocean forcing, validation proxies and data;
Design key long-term paleo ice-sheet (or coupled) simulations to support long-term future ice sheet (or coupled) simulations
Determine how long-term future ice sheet simulations could be bounded by paleo?
Produce a synthesis paper based on the outcomes of those break-out groups
PARTICIPATION
We strongly encourage the participation of numerical modelers & observations and paleo-data scientists. Especially:
Global and regional climate modelers: paleo to future
Solid Earth modelers
Ice sheet modelers (Greenland and Antarctica): paleo to future
Experts in paleo-proxy: sea-level, global climate and polar areas
Experts in present-day in-situ/remote observations: polar areas
