If you want robust audio performance and extended battery life for active use like basketball, choose Long Run Technologies Active Noise Cancelling; if you need a completely hidden profile for discreet listening or side sleeping, choose Xmenha Mini Invisible.
• Long Run Technologies Active Noise Cancelling: Delivers 100 hours of playback with deep bass and hybrid drivers but is an over-ear design that cannot be worn while lying on your side.
• Xmenha Mini Invisible: Offers a virtually undetectable in-ear fit with a smart LED charging case but sacrifices long battery life per charge to just 4–5 hours.
• Best For: The Long Run pick suits those prioritizing studio-quality sound and marathon sessions, while the Xmenha pick is ideal for commuters, sleepers, or anyone needing zero-profile discretion.
When I look at the specifications for the Long Run Technologies Active Noise Cancelling headphones, what stands out immediately is their commitment to endurance and acoustic depth. This isn't a pair of headphones designed for quick, five-minute checks; it is built for immersion. The inclusion of a Hybrid Driver system paired with a frequency range spanning from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz suggests a device capable of reproducing music with significant fidelity. For someone who cares about the nuance in a track—the thump of a kick drum or the crispness of a high-hat—this driver size and type indicates a serious attempt at Hi-Fi stereo sound.
The battery life specification is perhaps the most compelling feature for any active user. A claimed average life of 100 hours is staggering. While many competitors might offer a day or two of playtime, this unit allows for weeks of casual listening before requiring a recharge. With a battery charge time of only 2 hours, the workflow is efficient: a short break is enough to restore power for an entire work week. This makes the headphones exceptionally practical for travelers, students, or professionals who cannot afford to fumble with charging cables constantly.

However, the form factor dictates exactly who should skip this model. These are Over Ear headphones featuring memory foam ear cups. While the memory foam promises comfort during long sessions, the physical size means they cover the entire ear. If you plan to wear these while sleeping on your side, you will find them uncomfortable. They are also bulkier than true wireless earbuds, which might feel restrictive during high-intensity drills. Yet, for stationary activities like gaming, working in a studio, or sitting in an office, the trade-off for superior noise cancellation and sound quality is well worth it.
The Xmenha Mini Invisible represents a complete shift in philosophy, focusing entirely on discretion and ergonomics rather than raw acoustic power. The defining characteristic here is the "Invisible" design. These are not small earbuds that stick out slightly; they sit completely inside the ear canal. This low-profile construction solves a specific problem for people with sensitive ears or narrow canals. This makes them a viable option for children or adults who typically struggle to find a comfortable fit.
Another standout feature is the integration of a touch screen case that displays real-time battery levels. Instead of guessing how much charge remains based on a few dim LEDs, users get a clear readout for each bud and the case itself. This transparency is a game-changer for reliability. You know exactly when to grab the charger, preventing those moments of silence when you thought you had more juice left. The Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity further ensures that pairing is stable and instant, which is crucial for devices meant to be taken on and off frequently throughout the day.
These earbuds shine brightest in scenarios where visibility is a liability or where comfort during rest is paramount. The description highlights their utility as sleep earbuds, noting that the flush fit allows side sleepers to lie down without pain. Unlike the bulky over-ear design of the competitor, these disappear into your ear. They are perfect for taking calls in a meeting without drawing attention or listening to white noise to fall asleep. However, buyers must accept the limitation of 4–5 hours of playtime per charge. While the case extends this to over 30 hours total, the lack of a single-session marathon battery life means you will need to recharge them more often than the Long Run option.
• Best for Battery Life → Long Run Technologies Active Noise Cancelling: With 100 hours of continuous playback, this beats the Xmenha's 4–5 hour single charge by a massive margin.
• Best for Discretion → Xmenha Mini Invisible: Their in-ear, invisible design ensures no one notices you are wearing them, whereas the over-ear Long Run headphones are highly visible.
• Best for Sound Fidelity → Long Run Technologies Active Noise Cancelling: The 40mm Hybrid Drivers and wide frequency range suggest a richer, deeper audio experience compared to the basic isolation of the mini buds.
• Best for Sleep → Xmenha Mini Invisible: The ultra-low profile allows for side sleeping without pressure, a task impossible with the bulky memory foam cups of the Long Run model.
• Best for Small Ear Canals → Xmenha Mini Invisible: Specifically sized for narrow canals to prevent pain, offering a secure fit that over-ear headphones simply cannot provide.
• Best for Charging Transparency → Xmenha Mini Invisible: The LED screen case provides exact battery percentages, removing guesswork compared to the standard indicator lights likely found on the Long Run model.
• Best for Gaming Headphones for Basketball → Long Run Technologies Active Noise Cancelling: The combination of deep bass, active noise cancellation, and 100-hour battery life creates an immersive environment for intense gaming sessions.
• Best for Wireless Headphones for Basketball (Active Use) → Long Run Technologies Active Noise Cancelling: The secure over-ear design and water-resistant build make them suitable for gym workouts, provided you aren't sleeping with them on.
After weighing the technical specifications and intended use cases, I would personally buy the Long Run Technologies Active Noise Cancelling for my daily routine. The sheer longevity of the 100-hour battery combined with the superior audio hardware makes it the more versatile tool for entertainment and focus. I see myself using these as my primary gaming headphones for basketball, where I need deep bass and noise isolation to block out distractions, and then switching to them for long work sessions where I don't want to think about charging for days. While the Xmenha Mini Invisible has its niche for sleeping and absolute discretion, the Long Run model offers a more substantial return on investment for general media consumption. If you are looking for wireless headphones for basketball or over-ear headphones for basketball that deliver on performance without constant recharging, the Long Run option is the clear winner.
Yes, the Long Run Technologies Active Noise Cancelling model is well-suited for basketball due to its over-ear stability, water resistance, and deep bass, making it ideal for over ear headphones for basketball enthusiasts who need focus and power.
While the Xmenha earbuds are designed for a secure fit in small ear canals, their primary strength is discretion and sleep; for high-impact sports, the larger over-ear design of the Long Run model generally offers better security against sweat and movement.
The Long Run Technologies headphones offer a massive 100-hour playtime on a single charge, whereas the Xmenha Mini Invisible earbuds provide 4–5 hours per charge, though the charging case extends the total usage significantly.
No, the over-ear design with memory foam cups is too bulky for side sleeping and may cause discomfort; the Xmenha Mini Invisible is the better choice if you need audio while lying down.
