London Big Bands
It is said that "the artist articulates the human condition".
In this manner the pulse (heart beat) of this city was historically defined in those memorable years by its musical and artistic presence.
This historical collection and "labour of love" has been compiled over the past 20+ years by our dear friend, Al Shipley. It is a treasure-trove of information, anecdotes, photos, and recordings, documenting the past 100 years of London's rich big band heritage.

At a future date, with necessary outside funding for website/hosting expenses, we will transfer these Big Band archives to the Jazz Hub.
My personal thanks to Al for all his years spent documenting Big Band music and its important role in London's music and social history. I'm honoured to be asked to continue this and collaborate with you.
